Man I despise this “pay-to-play” platitude. Why can’t they just call it what it is - graft?

Whats odd to me....is that these are talks that you’d do face to face to avoid telephone wiretaps. Its almost like Blaggo knew that they were tapped and had these idiots calling him on purpose. The professionalism here....the ability to conduct stupid business without being caught....draws me to a conclusion that these people really don’t know how to conduct themselves. This is stuff I’d expect out of Little Rock or Memphis...with county or small city dimwits....not a governor of Illinois or presidential spokesmen.
The other curious thing is that Obama had “HIS” list of people that could replace him and this was strongly emphasized to Blago. These Obama guys didn’t want anyone else other than the five. It didn’t take Blago more than ten seconds to realize that this wasn’t a suggestive list....it was a demanding list.

0be’s getting stonewalling experience while he’s still in the on-deck circle. It’ll come in handy later.

Would it be inappropriate for Obama or someone from his team to offer opinions as to who should replace him if there was no quid pro quo?

Personally, I find this a tad unseemly. The Senate seat doesn't belong to Obama, who was barely in it long enough to warm it, but to the people of Illinois.
Yeah, in theroy.
The sad fact is that the U.S. Senate has turned into
The House of Lords.
Now my memory is a little hazy, but I seem to recall our forefathers raised a little stink over things like that going on here in America. It was around 1776 iirc.

Here's one for Hannity and Colmes: Did it get leaked by Dems before Rahm was able to seal the deal on a quid pro quo payoff to Blagojevich on behalf of Obama for the Senate seat in order to avoid an impeachable crisis situation for the Dems? Someone wanted it to blow up before there was more evidence on a real bribery for the seat.
