LOL
“No primaries for this special election. All regardless of party run on the same ballot, and the two top votegetter met.”
OK, I’m confused. While I understand that a special election to fill a U.S. House vacancy in TX would be in “jungle primary” format (which is what you described), why would that be the case to fill a Senate vacancy? Doesn’t Governor Perry get to appoint Hutchison’s (temporary) succesor, with a successor to serve for the remainder of the term elected in November 2010 (presumably following a normal primary calendar)? This article states that that’s how Texas law reads: http://blogs.chicagotribune.com/news_columnists_ezorn/2008/12/how-other-states-fill-senate-vacancies.html. I know that when Hutchison was elected to replace Bentsen’s temporary replacement that it was a special election held in the Spring of 1993, but perhaps the law has been changed since.
“Black RINO White RINO.
Whats the difference?”
I agree that it wouldn’t make a difference whether a RINO was black or white, but given that Michael Williams is by no means a RINO, your comment is inappropriate.
I think you replied in the wrong thread.
Good man from a good family. Excellent news.
Now would someone please step up to run for governor and retire the cheerleader and the yell leader? Please?
Call me a cynic. I didn’t see anything to indicate he is any different from all other professional parasites.
He is an absolutely amazing speaker in person.
Then maybe you should get to know him better. Those of us who do take great offense with your comment. This is a fine CONSERVATIVE man who is going to need all the support he can to defeat David Dewherst, Florence Shapiro, Roger Williams, and any other business as usual candidate that pops up.
You may think him inoculated. I think him tainted.
Yes, that statement is detestable. The last thing we need is innovation and job creation.
Neither of which is the province of government!
He was great at the convention. In addition, I heard him speak in private, smaller groups. His convictions are very genuine.
You are thinking too narrowly and importing meaning into his statement that isn't there.
Cutting taxes unleashes the power of innovation and creates jobs. Eliminating government regulation unleashes the power of innovation and creates jobs.
Cutting taxes and eliminating government regulations are not the province of government?
...Question. Sarcasm, bigotry, or are yer bilious???
(Screams on the inside) It's still Cajun style!
Bill White is an imperious little prince who can’t take any criticism. During the hurricane recovery he verbally abused a female volunteer who had come here from Georgia, without even bothering to find out if she was responsible for the situation. He then refused to apologize and got a free pass from local media that adores him.
I cannnot wait to seem his glass jaw in a hardball statewide contest.
You are dreaming and importing meaning into his statement that isn't there.
I see nothing in his statements that points to the restoration of our government to its constitutional bounds.
Another poster mentioned that he needed to drop the bowtie. It was in response to that.
No. I’m taking a preliminary press release for what it is. Perhaps Linda Shapiro would be more up your alley as a Senate candidate. Or David Dewhurst. Please.
Thanks Meek. I’m not very familiar with him, will learn more as time goes on. I don’t want Hutchison as Governor but Perry isn’t so great either, lol.
