SARKOZY & HIS BEAUCOUP KOOKY CUTIES FEMMES FATALES IN CABINET CATFIGHT
New York Post ^ | December 13, 2008 | CHARLES BREMNER

One is black, the other is Arab, both are beautiful - and they are wearing down Nicolas Sarkozy.

The French are mesmerized by media coverage of the debonair French president's quandary over Human Rights Minister Rama Yade and Justice Minister Rachida Dati, two headstrong icons of his rainbow Cabinet.

"Super Sarko" prides himself on being the ultimate alpha male but he has become putty in the hands of the pretty young pols, tolerating incompetence that would probably have a man dismissed.

Both are in disgrace but they are staying in their jobs for now, despite rumors of a reshuffle.

The antics of the pair, who are among 13 women ministers, have swung the spotlight on to the Achilles' heel of the Napoleonic president: his soft spot for female favorites.

“French women are the most overrated in the world in terms of their beauty. Brazilian, Persian, and Polish women all have them beat, to say nothing of our ladies here in the US of A.”

Oh you hit it out of the ballpark. But let me add what I learned from the circuit within the US Embassy. The word I was told that the further east you go, the more beautiful the women.

I missed an opportunity to do Warsaw and later Bucharest when family was stationed there but I made it to Kiev, Ukraine.

Never saw so many beautiful women in my life anywhere. Not in New York, maybe LA but out west that comes with some heavy baggage. In fact, it seemed to me that the women in Kiev had a beauty that was akin to the girl next door.

French women on the whole also have become extremely feministic in the worst way. Their attitudes about self have become hyper sexualized to the point they see full participation in sexual promiscuity as something similar to going to a day spa.

My grandmother told me that in France no one is honest in relationships. I later learned the hard way, she was absolutely right. And the words of a woman there stayed with me that when a couple breaks up, there is always a third party. I remembered that when she ended things and she would not answer the question of who the other person was other than to say, “I knew you would ask me that.”

Oh and the other thing I noticed there. The churches are empty.

“then there’s Jean-Marie Le Pen, yes he is aggressively right wing, but I’m not going to get into my opinions about him, or other ultra right EU parties, as with folks from the US, it always ends up a in a flame war due to the cultural voids between us!”

Jean-Marie Le Pen is an anti-semite, a racist who hates America and everything we stand for. He is not a Conservative, he is a fascist who believes in state controlled industry. He is opposed to free trade, and the State of Israel. He is about as un-American, and as un French, as one can get, which is why he took such a beating in all recent elections.

One of my special weaknesses - redheads. I do agree with the other examples of feminine pulchritude that you list.

In addition to Sarkozy being firmly pro-American, he’s tried to do away with ridiculous rules like a state imposed 35 hour work week limit.

Of course the state imposition had the opposite affect on unemployment. Employers made sure to hire less to deal with it.

I agree. Something about the accent, the wry smile, and the attitude of loving life.

I appreciate your sharing your experiences and knowledge... coming from the South... I am used to a bit more civility when interacting... even when dealing with people that I don't care for. I have made some nice friends in France... have had some great friends there for over 30 years... but the several times that I have been to France... including Paris... I was absolutely aware that although my $$$$$ were welcome... I was not... so much.

I really do appreciate your insight... perhaps I am just jaded in letting the French part of me out at times... I am not so proud of that lineage. I have pals that found some of the newer French weaponry in Iraq... that France had given to saddam to kill American heroes. That has angered me for years.

Merry Christmas FRiend,

LLS

saddam bought chirac long before we invaded Iraq, so I know that you speak the absolute truth. He was bought and paid for during the assembly of saddam’s nuclear facility... the one that the Israelis destroyed... and that pleased me to no end when it happened! Thanks again!

I look at Sarko much like I do Rudy Giuliani, he may be not quite to our liking as conservatives, but considering where they are from, they are about as conservative as it’s ever going to get from there.

You don’t understand a thing about French politics do you?

No, I only live, work, raise my Children etc here, so I obviously don't know a thing about what goes on.

Sarkozy is probably the most brilliant politician and tactician of his generation. He has succeeded in tying the Socialist Party (PS) in knots, and crippling them for the future. The PS has turned into a snarling snakepit of rivals thanks to Sarko.

It's nice you think that Sarkozys' efforts have been well spent 'tying Parti Socialiste in knots', whilst he reigned over, and forced the biggest Socialization of populations in the history of the modern World, the biggest cross border/country standardization of law, and the biggest amount of forced immigration, and all under the control of unelected, uninvited dictators in Brussels.
That's called Communism if you haven't heard.

Do you really believe that there are Conservative politicians in Europe?
The only Conservative politicians over here are spoken of by naive, deluded, media spoon-fed voters who prefer relating to political policy by attaching a meaningless 'tag' to them, rather than purely judging them on action and policy, or alternatively, by educated remote observers who probably went overseas on a holiday, maybe a few years ago, or something.
You're judging how 'Conservative' Sarkozy is, in relation to a moving goalpost of the Socialists in Europe, not a good method for judging political foundation.
Politics is degrees of Socialism here, if you don't understand and accept that as a starting point, then debate is a waste of time. The alternative for France has been a racist thug in Le-Pen, hence I abstained from voting, a vote against Socialism is worthless here, the EU 'immigrate' votes when they need to.

I find your screen name troubling. Does it really belong on a Conservative website like FR?

OK, so it's not allowed IYO?
Maybe I should change it?
Any suggestions what you'll allow me to have?
You should apply for a job in Brussels!

I'm not for Le-Pen, sorry if I misguided you.

I abstain from voting, for many years, as the politician I want to vote for would exist in the void 'somewhere' between Sarkozy and Le-Pen, we all know politics isn't just Left or Right, but I believe that's where a grass roots Conservative would probably exist.
Unfortunately, classic Conservatives absolutely have no representation here.

It would be nice to dissect policy from all the parties to create legislation, but as we know, that's being delusional.

You know guys, I know it makes you angry, but you do realize that classic Conservatism is dying, people are shifting either left or right in Europe, this is why there is no representation for us here. Maybe I'm just old fashioned wanting my Country to not change, and for my Children to grow up in France rather than Europe.

The last bastion of classic Conservatism is the US, but with the coming of Obama, especially with his background, I think classic Conservative thinking will be dismantled into the same college programmed mindset being bred in Europe. The mindset of degrees of Socialism.
I think Obama, like politicians in Europe have done, will polarize the people of the US, no one will be in the 'common sense' center political playing field, you'll develop ultra 'for' or ultra 'against' Socialism.

Time will tell of course, and I've never been so drawn to scrutinize an American politician like I feel I want to with Obama, hence my coming to FR.
Obama is so familiar to me, he's such a Socialist, that it's frightening. Hell, at least our politicians over here hide their Socialist tendencies to get elected, Obama ran his campaign on it from what I could see.

I hope I'm wrong, but I think that you need only look at the EU to see what kind of model Obama has planned for the US, maybe my opinions won't make you so angry then.

The comparison of Sarko to Rudy is a good one. Let’s hope the former can have some results of the latter.

But I think the Leftists in France are more potent than the NYC variety.

No one would say it in public but after Rudy changed the corner congregations of miscreants, he was unbeatable.

Even the liberals got tired of the violent criminals.

Your more recent experiences and recounting here is greatly appreciated. Not sure if/when I may go to Paris again. It is a beautiful city that will steal and for some break your heart.

I’m sure you were a fine representative there of our country. I was first there for the 98 World Cup. I found just breathing the air on arrival outside my hotel intoxicating. I don’t know why, it must be just me as I don’t even speak French.

I still tell everyone that they should try to get to Paris once in their life. Now if confronted or treated badly I would be a bad nightmare to others but since my trips were before the Iraq war, I didn’t have those issues.

But I do remember some slams on American “culture” and a running joke that whoever is a fat person in the street must be American. Didn’t let it bother me one bit. Just a few citations of what music/movies folks have seen is enough of a reminder of how tedious French culture can sometimes be. Watching only briefly their TV variety entertainment is enough to make one ill with the hollow sentimentality of the performers.

As for their support of Hussein it went right down the line and Banque Paribas was a warehouse of illicit funding for Saddam. In fact it was the tyrant’s national bank for all intents and purposes.

I got into a fight once after a business meeting with some French colleagues here. One guy was touting their system even while he came to live here and married an American woman.

Oh when he got that infamous French attitude with me at a bar later I let him have it. And I don’t regret it either. The other French colleague was trying to make the peace saying the systems are just different. Which was funny as he is pretty anti-socialism and came here to escape it.

When the guy started complaining about how he was “bored” and wouldn’t even maintain eye contact while whining I had enough. When he complained about Bush being a cowboy I said “I like cowboys.”

He really went off the deep end and started ranting about the US. So then I fired back about what France had done to Algeria and how Algerians had been killed and thrown into the river right in Paris.

Did get an invite when I looked after some exchange students. One said she would show me around Normandie if I ever get over there. Maybe one day as I really wish to visit St. Michel.

As for the weapons in Iraq, well we know that Chirac was a bastard and committed to supporting Arabic despots to the end. But for those who love freedom and liberty and Lebanon well we stand with those over Chirac any day.
