Greece: 'the masked ones' plot revolution as riot police begin to run out of teargas
Times Online ^ | December 13, 2008 | James Hider

The “masked ones”, as they are known, hold informal assemblies each day, where everyone has a chance to discuss where this “revolution” is headed. They even debate whether it is a revolution. “It is a social riot,” said another gate guard, “and it’s still going on. We don’t know yet where it will lead.”

In this photo from a December 11, 2008 Marxist.com/"Marxistiki Foni" article, the protesters can be seen giving the communist fist salute.

Marxist.com is obviously a pro-communist website.

And here they are with large red flags...

"After four days of struggle we can now start to draw some first clear conclusions. Without any doubt this movement deserves the title of 'teenager uprising'. We have here a new generation of tens of thousands of school students erupting in a huge explosion, the biggest for 20 years, if not even more, in Greece. We have clear symptoms of an instinctive revolutionary spirit, and a clear tendency to target not only the present bourgeois government but also the bourgeois state and the capitalist system as a whole."

I have no doubt that if the US had riots, it would start off as disorganized groups, wandering around making trouble. No real goal, no plan, just raising a little hell because they were unhappy about how things are going.

But then, I think some "masked ones" would start showing up in our cities. And I think disorganized groups would start to get organized. I think certain goals would appear. I think the chanting in Detroit would start to echo the chanting in Newark, and Los Angeles. I think the "masked one" would develop a powerful army in just a couple of weeks. There's a good chance that many in the US wouldn't even see it coming until it was too late.

By the way: in March a new movie will come out, called The Watchmen. Not to give away the plot too much, but the people are brought together and the world is unified under a benevolent regime after there is a great crisis -- after the nation is tested, as Biden would say -- and in the outcome of that testing, the world is transformed.

Sometime Obama reminds me of The Watchmen. And that's not good.

“May I suggest using your nightstick, officer?”

I think those brats should go on an unacompanied, unannounced, barley funded feild trip to China, Cuba, etc. for like two weeks. When they come back, I bet they stop with the goofiness, but what do I know?

I suppose that once we had a generation that had no memory of why Communism failed dismally in the Soviet Union, we’d see the same lunacy again. I just didn’t expect it to be quite this soon.

The only quote that explains these idiots is George Santayana’s.

Of course the countries that already experienced Communism, such as Poland, and the Czech Republic, know better.

Greece has snipers, let them earn their pay for a few weeks.

The riots will end, guaranteed.

To paraphrase General Grant during the Civil War,Stop worrying about what the enemy is going to do to you and start thinking about what you’re going to do to him.Now get some guns up here!

Communism did not fail dismally in the USSR. It lasted many decades, and while it lasted the Communist Party elites lived like royalty.

You assume these brats care about the "proletariat". They don't. They are the children of the Greek elite who hope to impose a dictatorship of the Elite, and just call it Communism.

The Marxist.com banner seems to have the likenesses of Karl Marx, Lenin, Engels, and Trotsky.

We are armed.

The risk of mortal consequences from trashing stuff is much higher here. In Greece there’s little to fear, that is if you are one of the ones trashing things...

Unless they are willing to die for their cause they will do little more than burn down the areas where they already live. No way that type of stuff gets exported to non-union working areas.

Nah, they have stupid phucks like these anarchists who riot in their streets too. Europe's socialistic culture at its "best".

Anarchists Poland
Anarchists Czech Republic
