Isn't that really the point? How can you call yourself a religion if you are willing to kill your own people for the slightest infraction. There is absolutely no tolerance in their religion. Indeed, in my mind, it is more of a cult than a religion.
It remains to be seen how sympathetic to terrorists Obama is, but we already know he’s an internationalist in the vein of the hyper corrupt UN. Hold on to your hats everyone; America is going to be sold out like never before for the next four years. What’s sad is that the Republicans are going to be right there with him, agreeing on principle (like with the unconstitutional bailout) and squabbling over the details like a sheep arguing with a wolf over the proper oven setting for mutton.

So long as the Muslim nations “hate” us, America is doing right by herself and by the world.

This may be prophetic.
Obama will not be bringing the troops home immediately as promised. He is extending a nuclear umbrella to Israel. He has voiced commitment to prosecuting the war in Afganistan with renewed vigor.
Yesterday I saw demonstrators in Keene, NH, with signs saying, “Impeach!” and “Troops out of Iraq Now!” I was wondering what was their problem, since Bush has just a month left in office. Then I realized, they were protesting Obama!
No "Concealed Carry" for them.

There is no moderate Islam, but there are moderate “muslims”, though one could argue whether these seculars/moderates qualify as “real muslims”. They are those who stem from Muslim societies but have embraced modern/Western ways while nominally staying “muslim”. There are millions of them out there in their original countries and the West and they are mostly middle and upper class. I know dozens personally. There is a difference between Muslims who fervently attend mosques and those nominal “muslims” who don’t give a rip about the Koran.

Me, too, and it doesn’t matter. There were plenty of tolerant and decent folks in China, Russia, Germany, Iran, Cambodia, and other places who were easily swept aside by a cadre of committed fanatics. In fact, those tolerant and decent folks are one of the first to be lined up and shot once the fanatics gain power.
The truth of the matter is that a well-organized minority can easily overwhelm a nation or a culture. Yes, it is very sad that there are innocents lost in the battle for liberty and freedom, whether those people are Germans in 1941, Vietnamese in 1968, or Moslem alive today. Because we hold certain values to be precious, we mourn their deaths. Those we fight target the innocents, whether in a Mumbai hotel, or a planeload of passengers, the guy with a college degree from a Western university, the Jewish family in the next house, or the children of the Czar.
Islam holds the seeds for fanatacism and terror in its beliefs, going back to the assassins and the way the religion formed in the wars between Mecca and Medina. (The same is true for Marxism - every attempt at communism will eventually head into bureaucratic totalitarianism, whether at high speed, as in Cambodia, or at a leisurely pace, like in the European Union.)
I’ve also known people who consider themselves moderate socialists or communists. Great neighbors. Nice kids. Those individuals can’t make up for the flaws of the belief itself.
