Interesting using the word "practical" when advocating suicide.
actually one needs to read the article to the end to get the full effect of the Hate of Christians that is out there.
Is the author any relation to the historian?
Hey, Polly, if you want to commit suicide, nobody can stop you. I urge you not to, but I can’t stop you.
But it’s pretty selfish to insist that the whole of society should be corrupted, and the medical profession should be perverted from preserving life to ending it, so you can kill yourself a bit more comfortably.
That revealing statement came at the very end of the article. To the militant anti-life liberal, a human is comparable to a dog.
Well, it is practical. It’s easier for the family, easier for the state, cheaper for the insurers and everybody else involved...heck, who needs medicine? If you get sick or get injured, please do everybody a favor, do the practical thing, and die.
The strange thing is that these people don’t seem to realize that they are undermining the entire Western (that is, Judeo-Christian) concept of medicine. If the seriously injured or ill can just be put to sleep, why bother to try to cure them if it’s not guaranteed and it might take awhile for them to be cured, or might even take awhile to find the cure in the first place?
Euthanasia is going to be a big feature of Bambi’s “health care” program. One of the people he appointed to the Justice Dept. is an attorney who worked for George Felos in the Terri Schiavo case.
Soon you will be allotted a set number of years at birth and then you must exit. After all, the human carbon footprint must be managed by the authorities.
When the baby boomers die is a matter for families to decide.
There's two lessons in that old oath. (1) You don't need to be a Christian to know that it's wrong for a physician to dispense "assisted suicide". (2) The demand has been around for a long time despite the fact that it's wrong.
The right answer is the status quo - funny how society reached a good decision even without liberal activists pushing for special rights. Those who really want to off themselves have no trouble doing it. Doctors who prescribe strong medicaitons for the terminally ill should not be held responsible if a dying patient takes a week's worth of their pain medication all at one time. Doctors should not be compelled to give a special prescription for suicide, nor should the public pay for this "service". Otherwise the government should stay out of the whole question.
Gee. Maybe they should go out in euphoria from thirst -- that's how that death goes, we were told just a few years ago.
I took his advice, and I have to say, I believe Benson was prophetic. Over 100 years ago he predicted exactly this attitude, and he got the timing right, too. But there's so much more in the book. I heartily recommend it, too.
Well, now we know how to get of the gun ban in England - they need to able to shoot themselves.
And we should stop suicide because...
assisted suicide is a fancy name for homicide.
