Tunes For The Troops
Trans-Siberian Orchestra (often abbreviated as TSO) is a rock orchestra founded by Paul O'Neill, Robert Kinkel, and Jon Oliva in 1996. The band's musical style is often described in different terms, incorporating progressive rock, symphonic metal, and heavy metal, with influences from classical music.
The group is based in New York City, but frequently tours worldwide. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra is known for its renditions of traditional Christmas songs.
Some of their best known works include such songs as "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24" (a rendition of "Carol of the Bells" and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" originally featured on Savatage's 1995 album, Dead Winter Dead), "Christmas Canon", and "Wizards in Winter", all of which are popular selections of radio DJs during the Christmas season.
This music is provided for the entertainment of our Troops, Veterans, Allies & their families!
Enjoy the varity of musical selections that the Canteen Deejays have provided throughout the thread. Please ping LaurenMarlowe with your requests for the Troops.
All music is removed on Monday. Thanks to all the DeeJay's for their time & effort providing entertainment for the Troops!

Red Skelton, star of the Camp Roberts Entertainment Troupe during World War II arrives by bus for first day of boot camp. This great American, already a major radio and film star when he was drafted in 1944, was inprocessed at Fort MacArthur (San Pedro), then was sent to Camp Roberts for Army Basic Training and assignment to Camp Roberts' Field Artillery Replacement Training Center. He spent most his time here performing for his fellow soldiers in MGM stage shows and stand-up routines at the main theater and the Soldiers Bowl.
