The way it is coming out on TV, there was some sort of contact wherein Obama or staff indicated they would like the woman appointed as the new senator. When Blago made it clear that he wanted a consideration for it—ambassadorship or cabinet appointment—he was told no way jose and cut off and she withdrew her name from consideration.

Actually, there seem to be some grounds for that, although I didn’t pick up on that vibe with the other women. I have worked in the mental health field, and gave a lot of thought to the Lewinski/Clinton mess. Here is my take: She already had a history with her drama coach in high school, having sex with him while baby sitting for him and his wife, right under the wife’s nose as it were. Her mother got famous for her affairs with The Three Tenors—Pavarotti, and I forget the other two. L is mad at her dad for abandoning the family. Her thinking: “I’ll show both mommy and daddy, I’ll fxxx the president” thereby one-upping mom, and getting to punish daddy/Clinton in one fell swoop. Probably mostly subconscious, but what genius.

Yes, but Obama's senate seat wasn't available until after the election and that is the basis for the case at this point.
