That's not just a pretext. Last year, a driver was arrested on Interstate 79 outside Pittsburgh after allegedly brandishing a semiautomatic pistol at a driver who was on his tail.Geeze. Who hasn't done that?

Wrong. You can’t legally be impeding traffic if you’re going the maximum allowable speed.

Then we have people in the car pool lane going slower than the regular fast laNE. What's the purpose if your slowing down?
HERE'S THE RULE MOVE RIGHT UNTIL YOU REACH YOUR SPEED.

The worst left lane bandits drive in CA.Most of which are truckers going 59 mph passing trucks going 58 mph. They should raise the truck speed limit to 65.

They want to start ticketing people who follow the law?? That's the point -- they're NOT following the law. They're properly driving at or below the speed limit, but they're violating the law that requires motorists on multi-lane highways to stay to the right unless passing other vehicles.
It's also worth noting that the two laws are not equal. The law requiring drivers to keep right except to pass is related to the safety of the road, while a posted speed limit is a statutory limit that usually has nothing to do with the safe operation of the road.

Many of these types are terrified of passing tractor trailors so they will stay in the left lane forever.

Exactly. I have never thought this whole argument made sense. They want to start ticketing people who follow the law?? Impeding traffic, even if you are following all traffic rules, is a ticketable offense. So, the guy who speeds in the left lane is violating the law, but so is the guy who impedes a row of drivers behind him.

You ARE impeding trafic regardless of your speed, if there are people behind you. In Cal, if there are more than five cars behind you. Your speed is a different question altogether.

If I am already doing 70, dont expect me to pull over when the speed limit is 65 If you are not pasing, you are not to be in the left lane, no matter what your speed is. The left lane is for passing, not travel, regardless of how fast you are going.

I don’t mind if they are, at least, doing the speed limit.

I’m more driven crazy by the speeders. They are far more dangerous whipping in and out of each lane almost hitting people. Where is a cop when you need one? In fact, has anybody ever had a cop there when you needed one?

I don’t mind em as long as I can pass them on the right but I hate those that will not get over and will not speed up.
Its a long Highway from San Antonio to Wichita and out there in Oklahoma there ain’t no reason to hang out in the left lane.
On more than one occasion I have had the self appointed law officer drive under the speed limit in the left lane and not let me go on down the road. Heck as fast as I’m driving by the time they get over I’m already way ahead of em.

Wrong. You cant legally be impeding traffic if youre going the maximum allowable speed. Wrong!
Also, it doesn't metter what the relative speeds are, the left lane is for passing. It is not a travel lane, it is for passing only.
regardless of speed, anyone who rides the left lane when not passing is a jerk.

What do I think of people that loiter in the fast lane? There wouldn't be no freeway shootings if you @$#%$^ would get out of the $#%$W% way! If they are going below the posted speed limit, I agree.
