Chicago Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. (D-IL) is the anonymous "Senate Candidate #5" whose emissaries Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich reportedly claimed offered up to a million dollars to name him to the U.S. Senate, federal law enforcement sources tell ABC News.
Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. said today that the FBI wants to interview him as part of the investigation...
Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. said today that the FBI wants to interview him as part of the investigation into Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, though he says he's been told he is not a target of the probe. In this 2005 file photo, Blagojevich, left, is congratulated by Rev. Jesse Jackson, right, and Jackson's son, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. D-Ill., second from right, after Blagojevich delivered his State of the State address to a joint session of the Illinois General Assembly in the House of Representatives at the Illinois State Capitol in Springfield, Ill.

According to the FBI affidavit in the case, Blagojevich "stated he might be able to cut a deal with Senate Candidate 5 that provided ROD BLAGOJEVICH" with something "tangible up front."
Jackson Jr. said this morning he was contacted yesterday by federal prosecutors in Chicago who he said "asked me to come in and share with them my insights and thoughts about the selection process."
Jackson Jr. said "I don't know" when asked if he was Candidate #5, but said he was told "I am not a target of this investigation."

A man named Jesse Jackson is corrupt? Whoda thunk that!
To: Theodore R.
“One of the reasons that IL is so corrupt is the inert Republican Party for never challenging the Democrats for their evil. Most of the governors since 1969 have been Republicans who govern as Daley Democrats.”
And the elected Republicans have been in the game too. The last republican gov was a criminal. The whole state has overtaken Louisiana as the most corrupt state in the union.
LA played a Jefferson, Alaska raised them a Stevens, and now Illinois has dropped this on everyone.

"It almost, ALMOST, makes me want to forgive the guy for all that Scooter Libby/Valerie Plame crap-ola."
Almost. But recall he kept the Libby investigation going for months and months and months after he'd determined who'd leaked her name to the press (Armitage), in hopes of snaring more people in perjury traps. By comparison, Fitz shut down the Blago investigation in the middle of what he called a "corruption crime spree". This had the handy effect of stopping the investigation from definitively snaring additional perps. Such as, oh for instance, Obama.
So don't make the mistake of thinking Fitz is on our side. He did Obama a big favor with his surprisingly premature timing. Investigatus Interruptus.

The difference here today, however, is that unlike with Nixon, the press...That's a difference, yes. But another significant difference is today's Internet political junkies and their ability to ferret out news, and articles that contradict the MSM meme. Even were Fitzgerald cool to pursuing the Obama connection it's conceivable that enough pressure could be applied to push him, even though reluctantly.

From David Horowitz column in 2001:
Two of Jesse Jackson's sons were recently given the No. 1 Budweiser distributorship in Chicago, worth $33 million in annual revenues. And they got it, against all competitors, for almost no cash down.

Another leak courtesy of Rahm Emanuel. And once again, Jesse Sr. will want to cut off Sen. Obama’s balls.

I heard Rezko might roll on the Giannoulias family...Good. Don and Roma seem to be in love with Alexi, who was on their show today on WLS. He wants to be governor of Illinois -- that is the way to stop corruption! And you know what, he'd get in.
And while I'm on WLS - they are interviewing every Illinois politician they can grab and they are all 'shocked' about all of this. Jan Shakowski actaully said that the people should be proud of Chicago politicians and that she was going to run for O's senate seat if there is a special election. She makes me gag.
Don Wade - quit sucking up to her.

"Exactly where did Jesse Jr. get million bucks? Do congressmen make that much money?" I would look first at daddy's "Rainbow/PUSH" organization and then at various other "non-profit" orgs on the left...... also starting with ACORN scum......

Oh, and some of the Jackson boys own a big Budweiser distributorship in Chicago, will tens of millions of dollars in revenues, so there could well be money available to buy the family its own US Senator.

If you add in that the actual evidence for Obama being born in Africa is weak as hell, well, it makes me think that the story is bogus. I don´t mind people researching it, but it shouldn´t be shoved into the media spotlight before it has more meat on it. Especially now when there are real, undeniable and juicy scandals with obvious Obama connections emerging. (Even before he is sworn in! Impressive!)I only care about whether Obama is a natural born citizen or not. The fact that Democrats will stoop this low as to peddle democracy to the highest bidder lends credence to the birth certificate issue because Obama is beginning to look like a man who would do or allow anything for the sake of power. We can put the Blago issue on the front burner but we should keep heat on the birth certificate issue, IMO.

Jackson will get his money from those deceptive black foundations that his old man funds with the money the old man shakes out of corporations and others after he trumps up some racism charge. This entire scandal is much, much bigger than what we have seen so far.
