A source said today that Gov. Rod Blagojevich was taken into federal custody at his North Side home this morning. The U.S. attorney's office would not confirm the information.
A Blagojevich spokesman said he was unaware of the development. "Haven't heard anything -- you are first to call," Lucio Guerrero said in an e-mail.
The stunning, early morning visit by authorities to the governor's North Side home came amid revelations that federal investigators had recorded the governor with the cooperation of a longtime confidant and had begun to focus on the possibility that the process of choosing a Senate successor to President-elect Barack Obama could be tainted by pay-to-play politics.
I’m comforted by the prominent display of the governor’s party affiliation in the article. NOT. NOWHERE LISTED.

Will Obama pardon Blagojevich on Jan 21st? I can count on it.
Well, at least he was able to have one more press conference yesterday, declaring that IL won’t do business with Bank of America because it refuses to lend any more money to a defunct door and window company.
But..but..I just saw him on tv yesterday doing good works for the fine unionized citizens of whatever company BofA refuses to share their bailout money with. He’s a man of the people, yo.
It is good to see that Gov. Blagojevich is keeping his campaign promise to reform what he labeled as “the culture of corruption” by having himself arrested.
perhaps his “sit in” with the Republic glass co folks was an attempt to avoid arrest. LOL!

Rod Blagojevich? The Rod Blagojevich whos wife’s salary dropped from six figures to zilch when Revco was arrested. Whose wife’s “real estate business” arranged the purchase of both of the Obama’s home? Who brokered all her transactions through the Broadway Bank the supposedly got its start with dirty mob money? That Rod Blagojevich? Not his wife?
I checked over at the DUck pen and most of them are blaming this on Bush!
