A source said today that Gov. Rod Blagojevich was taken into federal custody at his North Side home this morning. The U.S. attorney's office would not confirm the information, and a spokesman for the governor did not immediately return a phone call for comment.

Yes. And that's why the bi-directional pay-offs can be bigger than anyone could imagine.
Sickening.
Lets do the “FROG MARCH” again!
What I heard was the Feds moved because of the “outrageous” stuff they were hearing from the wire taps—a “crime spree” that they couldn’t wait to act on. A reporter at the press conference asked how they got the wiretapes on Blago’s phone—did they break into his office to put them in place? Fitz couldn’t comment on that....

CHICAGO The attorney for Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich said the governor will be vindicated and he has no plans to resign.
“He didn’t do anything wrong,” attorney Sheldon Sorosky told reporters after Blagojevich was arraigned. “A lot of this is just politics.”

Also, if the allegations are correct--that Obama had "demanded" that his preferred candidate be selected by the Governor--then how is Obama any less tainted by impropriety than the Governor?
Pals.
Thank you so much Mr. Smorch!
Obama's already been caught in one lie. You may have seen it, I have not been on the forum;
[Asked what contact he'd had with the governor's office about his replacement in the Senate, President-elect Obama today said "I had no contact with the governor or his office and so we were not, I was not aware of what was happening."
But on November 23, 2008, his senior adviser David Axelrod appeared on Fox News Chicago and said something quite different.
While insisting that the President-elect had not expressed a favorite to replace him, and his inclination was to avoid being a "kingmaker," Axelrod said, "I know he's talked to the governor and there are a whole range of names many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot ]of them."
In another off site article I read this;
The first lady was not arrested Tuesday, but federal prosecutors nevertheless allege that she was engaged in the governor's attempts to sell Barack Obama's U.S. Senate seat to the highest bidder and to intimidate The Chicago Tribune. The court document mentions the first lady, though not by name, 19 times in six graphic sections.
Can we play “name that party”?
I am rolling my eyes and it’s not pretty.
Jim Geraghty of Campaign Spot on National Review is saying that Obama’s team is saying that Axelrod misspoke.
They were way too nice. They shoulda broken down the door, cuffed him and shoved him into a cruiser, Dirty Harry-style.
You rock! Were we right or what? I would say that our assumptions are correct on the Trib tipping off Obama, but I suspect that it was a bit late for some on the O team and perhaps O himself. We have Axelrod saying one thing now and Obama another. Somebody is lying. Will Obama throw Axelrod under the bus next? Axelrod knows where all the bodies are buried so to speak.
BHO is going to be caught up in this even though he's not part of this.
You know how one thing leads to another?
The office of the president-elect was school in Chicago mob politics. Stupid voters should be ashamed.
To me, IT'S HILARIOUS! Four years of denials and lies are ahead. Bambi will have to start smokin' again...
You called it first, p!
Rezko and Blago know where bodies are buried too!
Still have the unnamed “others,” including JJJ. :)
Illinois, and Chicago in particular, are so used to having criminals/mob/Daley run things, they just don't know any better.
Not sure how their political mindset can ever be changed.
