This could go down as the most egregiously misleading graphic in morning show history. Have a look at the screengrab. Reporting on census data being released today, the Early Show on CBS displayed a graphic, under the headline "Economic Crisis," reporting that in the first part of this decade--the early Bush years:
* Household income dropped 79% * The poverty rate increased 70% * Unemployment was up 71%
What?? If those number were true, they would reflect a depression that would have made the 1930s look like life on easy street.

Most misleading MSM graphic ever? Ping to Today show list.
asinine — so-called “journalists” who present such a ridiculous and dishonest graphic should be driven right out of the business — these people lack the most elementary honesty and competence to be discussing the “news”
let them flip burgers at the nearest fast food joint b/c that’s the most they might be good for
Did you watch it this morning??
The part on the plane crash in San Diego, some woman witness said she had her video camera with her all times in her car because
because
because she worked for the UFO Network and had to be ready to video a UFO at all times!!
The final graphic they will post will blame GWB for their own demise.
I’m SURE they’ll provide a correction and an apology on tomorrow’s show!
;^)
Can't flip burgers, they would need that hand - eye thingy...
Garbage truck. That's it. Garbage truck, see the world!
Anyone could make this mistake. /s
It looks like to socialist revisionists are hard at work to make the Bush years look like hell so the coming democrat-debt building depression will look like an improvement
The media is well on their way to destroying us. Add corrupt politicians to the mix and we don’t stand a chance.
Maybe they were talking about conditions in the msm.
To them, they are the America!
I don’t think there’s anything “erroneous” about it. They’re 0bumites.
Math is hard. Harder if you’re liberal.
Does Quix live in San Diego?
I've even seen it happen right here on FR.
I thought home prices going down is what kicked off the crisis...:^)
I can see how they could play statistical shenanigans to come up with most of those (if “poverty rate” goes from 1% to 1.7% - that’s a 70% increase!!!), but that “Household Income Drops 79%” is just completely made-up nonsense.
Not any more.
Lived there 10 dramatic fun years.
Loved the place.
Alas, so do millions of other people.
