Why do bloggers continue to press issue of Obama's birthplace? (Cover-up Alert)
McClatchy News ^ | December 4, 2008 | Rick Montgomery

In the outer cosmos of the blogosphere, the presidential election isn’t over.

Barack Obama, now busily forming his administration, isn’t just the wrong person to lead the nation, claim Web sites such as America Must Know and Right Side News.

He is, they contend, constitutionally ineligible to be president.

The argument is over his place of birth — Hawaii, if you accept statements by Hawaiian officials, his 1961 birth notice in a Honolulu newspaper and a certified document his campaign obtained 18 months ago.

Still, legions of anti-Obama bloggers are so convinced he was born in Kenya that they’ve filed more than a dozen lawsuits nationwide.

They cite the Constitution’s requirement that presidents be "natural born citizens." They want the election declared void if Obama doesn’t deliver an original birth certificate — subject to an inspection by forensic experts — to be sure.

One litigant’s U.S. Supreme Court filing is scheduled to be discussed in private by the justices later this week.

Justice Clarence Thomas distributed to his colleagues a request that the high court weigh in before the Electoral College makes Obama’s victory official later this month. The justices may decide in a Friday conference whether to hear or cast away a lawsuit dismissed in a lower court and appealed by a retired New Jersey lawyer named Leo C. Donofrio, who also has his own Web site.

Yet another site, PeoplesPassions.org, beckons the president-elect: “If you’re eligible, show us the proof!”

Obama's campaign tried to settle all doubts months ago when it digitally scanned for all Web browsers to view a “certification of live birth,” signed by Hawaii’s registrar of vital statistics and carrying the state’s seal.

The skeptics response of "fake" prompted Brooks Jackson, who directs the nonpartisan FactCheck.org, to call the entire affair “the stupidest, silliest thing.”

Why did Woodward and Bernstein and Ben Bradlee pursue the Watergate story? Because they wanted to get to the bottom of it and find out what was there that the American public might want to know.

That is not correct. Woodward and Bernstein only wanted to get Nixon. Nothing more.

THat’s a good question. It’s unbelievable that they voted for him, but yes, I think the Jews that voted for him are just very liberal and aren’t too concerned about their homeland. They are more liberal than religious- I think.

Get the keys to grannys safe deposit box and round up any old copies of his BC that might have been issued prior to June of 2007. Make sure granny can't make any death bed confessions about BO being born in Kenya?

spent about one hour with granny
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mt_sRFYe08
not sure what he did the rest of the time...

Obama said he found his birth certificate in a shoe box after his mother died? [what happened to that one?] His grandmother was a vice-president of a bank. She had to be very organized about paper work to get that type of position. So, we are lead to believe that this very organized bank VP didn’t place an important document like an original BC in a file …or in a safety deposit box, which I’m sure she must have had one.

I read he was in Hawaii recently, since being elected, on a family vacation in a very elite neighborhood.

“...in our house other than watching Cauvto and on occasion Greta at 10 pm...”

I’m with you there. Cavuto is the only “must-watch” now. I’d rather watch an old movie and hold my breath for 4 years.

Thanks God, they didn’t mention Free Republic in connection with this ...issue.

Can't imagine how they missed us. We're only averaging, what, thirty or so BC conspiracy threads a day?

Sigh. . .

“Why are you trying so so hard to help cover up an obvious lie?”

I don't think that he's trying to cover up a lie. He's showing that various media sources (such as the one he linked) is doing every thing they can to spin the issue. The article relied on factcheck.org, which we all know was in the tank for 0bama when they pronounced his Certification Of Live Birth as being legit despite credible evidence to the contrary.

Here is some information on the birth announcement in the newspaper:

http://texasdarlin.wordpress.com/2008/07/23/obama-was-likely-born-in-hawaii/

However, it is possible that, under Hawaii law in effect at that time, he could have been born overseas in Kenya and then the family immediately returns to the US and files for a Hawaiian certificate of live birth. If this was done, it could have been picked up with Hawaiian births and a notice put in the newspaper. We just don’t know which again screams out for release of the original birth certificate.

The religion is listed as Muslim on his BC.

Doubt that seriously. His daddy may have been born Moslem, but both Barack Sr. and Barack's mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, were as Red as they come -- functional Communists unlikely to list any sect or religion on a child's birth papers.

I agree. A birth notice posted in a Honolulu newspaper in 1961 would be conclusive proof of birth to me.

It would be a public record.

“When BO went to see his granny, the real purpose of the trip was that he went to see the governor of Hawaii (a Republican, no less), and got her to agree to lock up any records on his Deer Leeder self in Hawaii.

Did BO have FBI files on the governor, or coerce her in some other way?? Or is she just a spaghetti-spined RINO? Or maybe he just promised her oodles of Federal funds for her state ...”

As there is always a trail of MSM hounds following him, is there any documentation that he indeed did deal with “paperwork” or is it just speculation (tho likely accurate)?

“Why is it so hard for the naysayers to understand that the same principle applies in this case? Why aren’t “reporters” doing their jobs, even if they do support Barry?”

Hence the definition “Mediacrat”.

“Do you think he would have still gotten the Jewish vote?”

If Hitler were a Democrat, my Jewish inlaws would have voted for him.

They hate when I tell them that.
