This area of Washington has a significant number of ex mil guys and gals. They came through Fort Lewis or McChord and liked it so much, they stayed.
Or they were defense consultants at Boeing.
That kind of thing.
When Dudes batteries run out in his I-phone and he can’t get to Google maps, he’s SOL!!
And more...
About two years ago my wife got a 6" long 1/2" deep laceration on her calf. We were way up in the mountains. We always have Duct tape with us. I cinched a tournequet on her femural artery, and cleaned the wound, and then closed it tightly with duct tape. By the time that we got back to civilization, two days later, the wound had fully closed. It healed without any visible scar. Great stuff!
I can’t help myself. I’m in to Rehab and want to “change” um.:’) They try to take my food though and they are gonna be in a world of hurt though.
That’s part of what my 2.5K of .22 is for!
Small game.
There be some that just cain’t be changed..............
Gots ta feel fer them thar folks.
Probably his ego.

I suppose....
Good for you!!!
There are some serious reasons for threads like this one, but some people go WAAAAAAAAY overboard. I find them extremely informative, and a lot of fun.
Who says being serious about being prepared for who knows what needs to only be dull and boring?
I know, I know.........but we must remember what He said about doing for the LEAST of His brothers.........
Anything but.
I'm guessing that you're too young to remember the 'survivalist' movement from the early 70s? Some of them actually purchased property in remote places, and armed themselves to the teeth. Most of them lived communally, and that led to some interesting news reports. One of the leaders of one camp had decided that he had sharing rights to as many of the wives as he wanted. Not a good thing to do in a heavily armed camp...
Well, I’ve recommended talking to and getting to know your neighbors. Community meetings, that sort of thing.
If things continue to get worse, community groups are the only thing that might work.
It would be a very different world, but if people work together and lower their expectations, they can get through.
The bugs come in the form of eggs that hatch already in the flour, etc.
Survival Info Bump! ;-)
LOL,,,Roger Dat on the SOL !
I guess half the folks in that place worked for Boeing at
one time or another,,,
My ex-mil and her sister worked on the B-52’s,,,
The kids would take off from school to pick berries at
the local farms when the season came,,,
Earned money and could bring home plenty for Mom to can,,,
(try that now)
I hate to hear about the thugs movin’ into the Puyallup area
but lots of places are like that now...
Sifting is good. Also, freeze the flour for four days before storing it in a good food storage bag.
Having a 4-stoke motorcycle to get out of populated urban areas fast,
was the best advice I was ever told. Don't forget the bug-out bag.
Oh really? this coming from the one invoking scripture againt folks that choose to be prepared?
I do agree you did make things interesting, in a rather weird way, but that was not the sort of thread involvement I was speaking of.
I'm guessing that you're too young to remember the 'survivalist' movement from the early 70s?
You guess wrong. If you choose to equate discussions such as this to that sort of mentality, you might want to rethink your participation in such discussions.
That sort of describes where I’m at right now. Although we’re physically spaced apart, as in we don’t live on “blocks” in the sense of how my husband and I grew up (he grew up in a small town and I grew up in a big city) we still have our “community” of neighbors.
We all know what we can each “provide” for ourselves and the others.
