The court ruled that since he started making payments he was obligated to continue, and I think even after the real father was ID. The court is an unjust ass in that case.

in 92 a guy walked in and shot the child welfare department to death then committed suicide after telling them they ruined his life now he'd ruin theirs for bankrupting him in a support case for a kid known not to be his. justice eventually prevails...even if it's pretty damn harsh.
Note to unjust government a-holes: it won't be the last time a desperate individual meets out justice in this fashion. Democrats considering stealing the principal in 401k accounts will probably earn a lot of this kind of justice.

I was a single father for quite a few years also, so I sort of understand some of what you are going through.
Congratulations to you, and to your daughter. I’m sure she’s in good hands, and has an enviable role model to follow.

Thank you. I hope I can live up to that for both my kids.

I have a friend who claims that when he was taken to court concerning support for a child that isn't his... at one point during the hearing, he told the judge: "He's not mine, your honor, he doesn't even look like me!"
I'm told that the judge replied: "If you feed him long enough, son, he'll get to looking like you".
Sounds far fetched, but I suppose it IS possible with the judges we have in South Carolina.
