In between the tree trimming and gift-giving, President-elect Barack Obama is inviting Americans to spend part of the holiday season talking about health care -- and report back to him.
As he gears up for major health reform legislation next year, Obama is encouraging average Americans to host informal gatherings to brainstorm about how to improve the U.S. system.
The sessions, which could take place at a party, over a Menorah-lighting or at the annual Christmas cookie bake-off, are to be held Dec. 15 to Dec. 31. Former senator Thomas A. Daschle, Obama's point person on health, will attend at least one and prepare a detailed report, complete with video, to present to the next president.
In addition to the house parties, Obama's transition Web site, Change.gov, is collecting thousands of comments on health-care reform.

Rule No 1....you need a valid US birth certificate to participate.
No kidding. No matter what is “submitted”, they already know which direction they want to go in. What a joke.
How about getting out of it altogether?
If there was no insurance or free health care it wouldn’t make any difference if you were a citizen or not.
Canadians with any money come here now and pay the full price for health care because the government system in Canada stinks.
To Daschle:
We don’t want it.
We don’t want abortion.
We don’t want euthania.
We don’t want stem-celling research on embryos. (You don’t remember, Mr. Daschle, but you were once and embryo, yourself.)
Bingo. And when the shove their plan down our throats they can say "This is what the majority of the people wanted".
euthania.
euthanasia.
Take a number and die. That’s what they want.
Communism “squashes” those who are no longer “Producers”.
You must use a sharpened #2 pencil. Blacken the bubble from the inside out,do not go outside of the bubble or the scanner will read it incorrectly. You have one hour.
***Its all a mirage....while people type in their ideas, the Dems will proceed to do as the please.***
Exactly.
“Try to find ways to disconnect the federal goverment from interfering and running political agendas in the healthcare market.”
Take health care insurance out of businesses. It’s the only way.
It’s the insurance companies vs the doctors. It’s a runaway train since the 70’s.
1. Abolish MEDICARE and MEDICAID, get the Federal Government completely OUT of health care.
2. Limit malpractice suit payouts to $250K.
3. Tighten tracking of incompetent physicians and loosen rules to yank licenses of the seriously incompetent.
If you send in anything you will become part of Obama’s and the DNC’s mailing list for the 2010 and 2012 campaigns.
Nobama and daschle know NOTHING about running a Dairy Queen, much less a health system. As Levin said, they will be using populist feedback on the internet to build a despotic system.
Anyone who missed The Great One’s show on friday can hear what he said about this issue by going to his site and clicking on the Dec 5 show.

I am sure that’s true, but you can always use a phony name and a throw-away e-mail address.
If the Dems can use that for voter registration, I don’t see why others can’t use it to stay anonymous, when making a comment at Obama’s site.

You have it. We are no longer a Representative Republic.
Fire Daschle. Then resign.
Well, probably the first step would be to ask experts, and not yahoos who frequent your website.
Repeal the 1973 bill, authored by Ted Kennedy, which created HMOs. Let the free market be free.
