Even Madonna - in her black “onesie” and fishnets and the white tophat - I mean come ON!!! Have some class! The oldsters had it - Ella Fitzgerald, Rosemary Clooney and so on; they were artists too. Well, actually they had real talent, not like the processed “crap” a lot of these people have today.
Of course, then there WAS Elvis and Liberace - what WERE they thinking???

Slam dunk the school is going to lose this one. Unwritten rules are prima facie uneforceable.
The educrat in charge sounds like some sort of backwoods bumpkin. He is in public education (such that it is), and as such has to allow such appearances. If he was any good he would know better and not be an educrat.
The real problem is that the district will defend him. If judgements and legal fees were to come out of his pocket or the NEA insurance fund, that would be much more effective in this kind of case.
