Here is a sample of how diversity is being celebrated this December:
· Elementary school students in Plainfield, Illinois are decorating a Holiday tree that represents 18 countries. · A Holiday Revelry will be performed at the Framingham Civic League in Massachusetts; it is a multicultural event that includes PAC Sword Dancers and traditional Christmas songs such as Pat-A-Pan. · Winter Traditions will be celebrated at the Fort Collins Museum in Colorado. They include Celebrations of Light that highlight traditions, cultures and celebrations from across the world. · At a high school in Ocean City, Maryland, the annual Winter Concert this year will feature a performance entitled Eid Mubarak, a Muslim holiday song. · At the Comcast Center in Philadelphia there will be a huge Multimedia Holiday Show featuring secular songs. Religious Christmas songs are expressly prohibited. · At Missouri State University, a new school rule explicitly bans the menorah and the nativity scene from being displayed in common areas. Nonetheless, the menorah is displayed; the crèche is not. · At an architectural firm in Wichita, Kansas there will be no Christmas party. But there will be a party. The CEO says, we call our December party a holiday party.
Darby Herrington, a Colorado lawyer, wrote a column defending these kinds of things. According to her, People of other religions tend to harbor some ill feelings toward all things Christmas.
Catholic League president Bill Donohue offered his thoughts:
Cultural fascists invoke diversity every December as cover for neutering Christmasthey never choose some other month to practice their multicultural religion. And by the way, who are these people from other religions who hate Christmas? I never met one. It would be more accurate to say that its precisely the persons who make this charge who hate Christmas.
Heck, Hannukah is a legitimate celebration, simply for the fact that it commemorates a miracle that took place after the Macabees kicked out the pagans.
Amen!
The kingdom of Heaven is like a net which was thrown into the sea and gathered fish of every kind; when it was full, men drew it ashore and sat down and sorted the good into vessels but threw away the bad. So it will be at the close of the age. The angels will come out and separate the evil from the righteous, and throw them into the furnace of fire; there men will weep and gnash their teeth.
Ain’t that the truth!
Diversity: Many colors and genders, saying with one voice the PC party line.
“Diversity” will continue until people either fight or realize they have surrendered.
The sad part is that those of us defending traditions, and Christmas in particular, never take to the streets, perform geurilla theater, protest, or picket those who want to take away our right to freely assemble as we wish however we wish to freely exercise our right to religion.
We had a guy at our school who wanted to take away the Christmas tree and put up a “peace tree” instead, because, he said, there are people who don’t celebrate Christmas. He was flooded with e-mails from those of us who told him (using the values of the enemy against him, as Alinsky told us) that he had no right to impose his morality on us, that he had no right to oppress the beliefs of others, and that he had no right to prevent freedom of speech and expression and religion. Then we put up the tree.
If conservatives actually defended themselves, we’d be surrounding the homes of anti-Christmas lawyers and politicians singing carols at 2 a.m. and throwing candy canes on their lawns in protest. We’d be handing out the Christmas story from the Bible to crowds at city council meetings. We’d be publishing cartoons showing caricatured liberals as Mao and Pol Pot and Castro kicking the manger over with the Christ child in the mud, crying. We’d hand out little trees as signs of our protests. Instead of a pink ribbon for AIDS research, how about a little Christmas wreath for the lapel? Why not have roving gangs of activists shouting “Merry Christmas!” to boards and commissions and businesses which ban the practice?
I mean, c’mon. Defend yourselves.
Rainbow / Satanic doctrine is all about worshiping and indulging the self.Christian Doctrine is about worshiping God and sacrificing the self - being reborn daily via Christ's sacrifice.
“X-mas has been going on for years. And how many times have you written that on your X-mas cards?”
The word “xmas” is actually an old English one. The “x” in Christmas is the Greek letter chi, which is the first letter in the Greek word for “Christ.” Thus, “xmas” is simply a shortened version of “Christmas.”
In 1953, Tex Ritter recorded "Put Christ Back into Christmas," a song that begins, "Don't wish me 'Merry X-mas' or 'Happy Holidays'..."
Out town is having the “holiday parade” *spit* this evening...right on the road where I do my evening running.
Last night I measures out a route in the opposite direction.
My operative word is “flee”.
Nes Gadol Hayah Sham!
Militant Christmas activists....
I like it! What’s the ACLU going to do, say “That’s not what we meant when we defend the First Amendment right to protest!!”
Of course, throw candy canes on a atheist gay liberal’s lawn and we’re all guilty of “hate crimes”.
Or how about, “Merry Christmas! You got a problem with that?”
No, I only wish a Merry Christmas to those whom I know will welcome and appreciate it. Some are Jewish. One remarked, “So what does a Nativity scene depict? A nice Jewish family of the House of David!”
>>>Of course, throw candy canes on a atheist gay liberals lawn and were all guilty of hate crimes.<<<
This is where the left has us over a barrel. We are concerned about the ramifications of our actions. They’re concerned about getting their way.
Take a leaf from the Alinsky book “Rules for Radicals.” If you’re arrested for “hate crimes” because you’ve carpeted a yard with candy canes, crow about it. Make the opposition look like fools. Come to court wrapped in candy canes. Hand them out to the press corps and the crowds assembled. Get a lawyer named Candy Kane. One of Alinsky’s insights is that ridicule is impossible to defend against, an insight that Rush Limbaugh took to heart.
I’m tired to being the target for leftwing harassment and humiliation. The time is long past to put the people who want to wreck the culture and country in the spotlight.
What we see as Holy, they see wholly different.
Good posts!
“come to court wrapped in candy canes”
Of course, you could then be accused of “sucrose terrorism” against the Splenda Community.
;^)
But you’re right: what is to be done?
Diversity divides. They share the same root.
Not sure how Christmas is being stolen... Did you wrap up your Christmas only to find it gone when you got home?
Not to mention, but isn’t Christmas a holiday? So, wouldn’t a holiday party being celebrating Christmas (and other seasonal holidays). Or is it just the mere thought of having to deal with all that pagan stuff creep you out?
