Costco has 520 stores nationwide. But you will not find "Christmas" in a single store.
That's because Costco says it will not use the term "Christmas" on its website or in its stores. Instead, Costco is telling customers it purposely chooses to use the generic "holiday" verbiage. You know, they stock holiday gifts, not Christmas gifts.
Last week, a customer wrote to Costco and asked this direct question "Does Costco use the word 'Christmas' in your store advertising or on any signs anywhere in your stores during the Christmas season? That's a pretty simple question, yes or no."
Kory Rosacrans, staff manager for Costco replied, "I guess the answer would be No."
Rosacrans said, "Costco does not advertise on television, on radio or in print like other retailers. We only advertise by mailings and e-mail messages sent directly to our members who have paid for the privilege of shopping with us."
Costco wants you to do your "Christmas" shopping with them, while refusing to recognize that Christmas even exists.
Not a problem. I don’t shop at stores that charge an admission fee.
Target doesnt do Christmas either
And it threw out the Salvation Army
My “Christmas” search on their website pulled up a page with the word “Christmas” 3 times
and “Holiday” 11 times
Screw Costco and Target. These are stores that appeal to the volvo driving same sex marriage crowd. Also, Progressive Insurance can take a hike. Why corporations would want to appeal to morally and financially bankrupt people is a mystery to me.
Sam’s Club and Wal Mart are where real Americans shop.
Rejected Costco slogan: 200,000 sq ft of retail space....20 sq ft of open checkout lanes!
Remind them at every opportunity that Holiday is a corrupted form of Holy Day and watch their gears melt.
Overall, I think this may be much ado about nothing. Our Costco store is loaded with Christmas decor for sale.
I've seen them shredded on here for too much Chinese stuff.
Like I asked earlier in this thread, if you rule out all the places that get attacked on FR, Tractor Supply seems to be the only "acceptable" place to shop.
If Costco didn’t give you Christmas, they can’t take it away.
LMAO
I've gone to Sams (used to be Wholesale Club) for 15 yrs and I know I save money. But that's what makes America great, the ability to choose.
That one would indeed be hard to scrub clean of the Christmas associations.
Bull. Read up thread.
Well, I suppose that it depends... I mean, if the person that you're giving the tree to lives in an apartment, then it would be an inappropriate gift, unless it were one of those tiny little Japanese trees that Mr. Miagi from the Karate Kid grew. But I suppose that giving a tree as a gift to a homeowner would be OK, but you really can't plant them in your yard around Christmas... So where would you put it until spring?
Mark
Good for them. That makes it so much easier for me to go to Sam’s Club instead.
What I mean is that they do not use christmas in their advertising or signage. They sell christmas items and want you to purchase your christmas items there but they are ashamed to admit it on their building or advertise it.
We don’t have a Costco in our area, but if I ever see one, I’ll be sure to remember not to shop in it.
They’re not going to have anything that I can’t get elsewhere.
