"You see, the greatness of FR lies not in its staff, or in the resumes of its posters, but rather in the honest truth and heartfelt concern for our nation's future that emanates from so many articulate, well-thought, and insightful posters." :)

It isn't that the freepers have such an ivy-league staff. In fact, it's not likely that any of the bright minds I read comment by on that blog could be hired in the mailroom of the New York Times, much less writing commentary and columns for them..

The author would be surprised who all our FReepers and the educational background of many. I would love to compare 'papers' to DU, for example.

FR has been named by the dems who will shut it down with “The Fairness Doctrine.”

Fixed it. Much better now.

And don't forget DUmmieland. Yea, I hear you. I'll pop in over there once in while and I always leave feeling like I need to take a shower and go to confession.

Welcome to FR!

What a kind and glowing compliment for Jim Rob and his friends. One more person who has noticed that the punctuation of the name of this website. It means both Free Republic, and Freer E-Public.

Thank you, Jim Robinson, and John, and all your associates, and all the colleagues on FR over the years.

For the millionth time, FR isn't a blog. Here's the definition;

Main Entry: blog
Pronunciation: \ˈblȯg, ˈbläg\
Function: noun
Etymology: short for Weblog
Date: 1999
: a Web site that contains an online personal journal with reflections, comments, and often hyperlinks provided by the writer ; also : the contents of such a site

Freeper’s common sense, different educations, life experiences and realistic perspectives are what drew me here at first. You can't combine them into a degree but they will carry you farther than any Ivy league education out there.
