"Despite these high levels of dishonesty, these same kids have a high self-image when it comes to ethics."
Some 93 percent of students indicated satisfaction with their own character and ethics, with 77 percent saying that "when it comes to doing what is right, I am better than most people I know."

American teenagers lie, steal and cheat more at "alarming rates," a study of nearly 30,000 high school students concluded Monday. It all depends on the definition of "lie, cheat, and steal." /sarc
Seriously, though. America has no moral compass any more, so the statistics in this article aren't that much of a shocker.

American teenagers lie, steal and cheat more at "alarming rates,"...and they feel good about themselves while doing so. Tolerance trumps virtue and feelings, intelligence.

This is just liberal education. If all values are equal, then there can be no such thing as deficient ethics. That can only be true if you believe in moral absolutes. So what are liberal educators worried about? This is exactly what they've taught children to believe: situational ethics. And now they're shocked? Tsk, tsk, tsk!

The future is already here, these types of kids have been turning into leaders for decades, denying accountability and ruining the ethical underpinnings that once held this country together. Witness Clinton, who (barf alert) “taught” all middle schoolers that oral sex isn’t sex, or Teddy K, who taught a generation that you can get away with manslaughter if you know the right people.
And on and on.....

Where do we expect kids to learn how to be decent humans???

When everyone defines what is right and good for themselves, they invariably define their own behavior as right and good. This is the goal of the post-modernist movement.
And how would you expect teens to act today when over half the country subscribes to an ideology that promotes the flagrant defiant violation of all of God’s commandments?

This comes with the me, me, me mentality. The teenagers of today have got to realize that the world doesnt revolve around them.

Well.. when they see politicians stealing elections; their sports idols cheat by taking performance-enhancing drugs; parents cheat on each other — it’s all reflective of society in general. What do we expect???

Millions of people who were raised in Christian households in the 60's and 70's, and then chose to lead secular lives, are shocked that their kids are amoral.
I guess, "well, as long as I'm a good person, I don't need to go to church, and my kids will be the same way", didn't really work out so swell.

but we can’t have prayer in the schools. nope, can’t teach them anything about G-d or the Bible. Don’t want to confuse or offend anyone.
