Activists Target Mormons for Gay-Marriage Ban's Success in California
Fox News ^

In the nearly four weeks since Election Day, gay activists and thousands of their supporters have rallied outside Mormon temples around the country, protesting the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints' support for California's Proposition 8, the ballot initiative to make same-sex marriage illegal in the Golden State.
There have been calls to boycott the annual Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah; some activists have called for a boycott of the entire state of Utah. Protesters have defaced some church buildings, and in Arapaho County, Colo., the Sheriff's Office is investigating a possible hate crime the torching of the Book of Mormon on a church's doorstep.
Even the state of California itself has announced that it is investigating the church's involvement in Proposition 8, which was approved by a vote of 52 percent to 48 percent and, barring a Supreme Court overturn, will ban gay marriage in the state.
But are the Mormons being singled out unfairly?
Other groups, notably African-Americans and other churches and religious denominations, voted in big numbers for Prop 8. But nobody has seen gay-marriage proponents knocking on the doors of black-oriented community centers or churches. No one has called for a boycott of black-owned businesses.

They’re still at it, eh?
Just goes to show that we breeders are right about the threat that the gay community is to our way of life.

If I was a skier I'd make it a point to ski Utah...even though it's about 2,500 miles away from me.In fact,I'd even consider taking up skiing but somehow I don't think the surgeon who recently installed a titanium hip in me would approve.

Every group, club, state, city and town can only pray the gay community boycotts them. Wasn’t that what the 50s was like?

Homosexuals are going after the Mormons first.
Then they’ll move against other groups.
Divide and conquer.
At least until they become hospitalized because they’re too sick to participate.
To: Red Badger
We could boycott Californica California.

That’s correct. Our response: not to sheepish I hope. We should make our voices louder than theirs! They are a minority and need to be reminded why. They are a group of people out of touch with a reality about what God says about their lifestyle. We cannot sit quietly by and hope that our silent “love” will win them over. They are as militant as the men outside Lot’s door just before the angels destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. Lot and his two daughters were saved, but he lost his wife and sons in law. All because he had no voice of opposition.

As I’ve said on every thread on this topic, where’s Romney? He should be out front of his Church’s main office, holding press conferences, defending them against the gay thugs. But where is he? Mitt? Hello?

Well, if ya do, make it Deer Valley Resort in Park City. I'll keep it in mind.I've skied once in my life...about 20 years ago...on the bunny trail of a slope in New Hampshire.Several people were killed (but not me)! My surgeon has essentially warned me not to sneeze the wrong way...I can't see him allowing me to ski.
To: metmom
We could boycott....California I already do.I've set foot in the state twice in my life and not for 20+ years.Today,Californica has *nothing* to show me and *nothing* that I need or want.
To: Stoat
Does anyone know if the LDS church actually spent church funds on the issue? If they did, they should expect backlash from the homo loonies.

The peter-puffers better be careful when attacking Mormon Wards (churches). Most of the ones that I know are well armed and will not stand for their families or themselves to be exposed to any danger.
