Second New Study: Abortion Causes Mental Health Problems

Wellington, New Zealand -- A second new study points to the link between abortion and subsequent mental health problems for the women who have them. This new study, conducted by a New Zealand professor, comes after American researchers released their own study connecting abortion with numerous negative aftereffects.

Researchers at Otago University reported their findings in the British Journal of Psychiatry and found that women who have abortions have an increased risk of developing mental health problems.

The study found that women who had abortions had rates of mental health problems about 30% higher than other women. The conditions most associated with abortion included anxiety disorders and substance use disorders.

The American study, released Friday, showed as much as 10 percent of all mental health problems in the U.S. result from abortions.

The reason this could be interesting is that the “health of the mother”, including all potential psychiatric complications real and imagined, is often cited as the exception to antiabortion legislation. Now the opposite is seen as being true.

The study reaffirms what anyone with commonsense should know, i.e., deliberately snuffing out a life in the womb is a brutal act with negative repercussions that last a lifetime. The pain lingers interminably, and memory of the act can never be far from mind in any person of conscience. So unless the mother is a sociopath, the abortion, which harmed the child with extreme prejudice, harms her forever also.

But I'm not commenting to make those assertions, which seem to me only commonsense, as I said. I just want to observe that we'll never hear about these studies again. They will be completely ignored by the chattering class, and disappear down the memory hole.

The abortion industry cannot be examined openly by the complicit media. It could never withstand the disclosures. So the media stays silent, and studies like these simply never get reported.

Remember - our liberal "progressive" society has corrupted and indoctrinated young women (and girls) to believe the disposal of a growing baby - aka "fetus" is nothing but the removal of "tissue." Baby-killing is also legal and thus socially and morally "acceptable."

This study suggests the human conscience knows better.

Oh yes, isn’t it just. We should all remember Abortions 12:23, where it says

I think Christians have shown enough indiscriminate love. Its time to show true love for unborn children.

Probably both ways. That doesn't dispel the idea that abortion can cause problems, and hopefully that will be included in future studies in some way. It's nice to see a second independent study point to it as a cause. Consider how some mothers who miscarry (especially frequently) or lose an infant at birth struggle to overcome their grief and are prescribed counseling to help them deal with that loss. Then imagine how many who abort are lured to think it's for the best, it's hard to imagine that wouldn't come back to haunt some at some future point. Especially these days with all we know about conception and fetal development, how we can - with the miracles of modern technology - see the actual preborn in 3-D.
