Report: Mumbai Terror Attack Aimed to Kill 5,000 People
FoxNews ^

Indian police have heard the first full account of what led up to the devastating attacks in Mumbai from the only terrorist captured alive, who told authorities that he was ordered to kill "until the last breath," the U.K.'s Daily Mail newspaper reported Sunday.

Azam Amir Kasab, 21, the only terrorist to survive a raid by Indian commandos, told authorities that the attacks included 10 terrorists in a heavily orchestrated plan devised six months ago, that hoped to kill 5,000 people — targeting mostly "whites, preferably Americans and British,"

I think Americans are starting to give second thought to their jokes about Bush and his “War on Terrorism” now that we have Obama as president-elect.

It couldn’t have been a great plan. Holing up in buildings would seem to limit your targets fairly quickly.

Five hundred kills apiece for the raiding party. Ambitious but not impossible, particularly if they were to use explosives. The "mostly" bit is odd. I wouldn't have thought there were anything like 5,000 whites in Mumbai conveniently all in one place at one time. Surely they mean that they intended to kill 5,000 people, targeting especially any whites that happen to be there... Or have I misunderstood?

I tend to agree. In a related article today in the Columbus Dispatch, an Indian authority was quoted as saying that Westerners were not the target. Already the US MSM is telling us that we are safe and will continue to do a "cover up."

I heard one report say that there were only some 30 Israelis in the city at that time.

There’s still the guy that was supposed to blow up the airport and missed his turn.

Instead he blew up a stoplight.

This could happen in any American Blue City in a Blue State.

Imported Jihadists or home grown al Fuqra aka Nation of Islam thugs could attack a large luxury hotel.

The PC mayor and PC police chiefs would prevent any massive and deadly response by their police if they had any well trained police instead of PCized Leos.

The blue governors would send in national guard troops with guns but no bullets.

The above PC bs by the liberal mayor and governor would allow the al Fuqra/Nation of Islam thugs to do what they wanted to do with no problem.

Mumbai photographer: I wish I’d had a gun, not a camera. Armed police would not fire back
Belfast Telegraph ^ | 29 November 2008 | Jerome Taylor

Posted on Saturday, November 29, 2008 11:17:52 AM by Leisler

It is the photograph that has dominated the world’s front pages, casting an astonishing light on the fresh-faced killers who brought terror to the heart of India’s most vibrant city. Now it can be revealed how the astonishing picture came to be taken by a newspaper photographer who hid inside a train carriage as gunfire erupted all around him.

Sebastian D’Souza, a picture editor at the Mumbai Mirror, whose offices are just opposite the city’s Chhatrapati Shivaji station, heard the gunfire erupt and ran towards the terminus. “I ran into the first carriage of one of the trains on the platform to try and get a shot but couldn’t get a good angle, so I moved to the second carriage and waited for the gunmen to walk by,” he said. “They were shooting from waist height and fired at anything that moved. I briefly had time to take a couple of frames using a telephoto lens. I think they saw me taking photographs but theydidn’t seem to care.”

The gunmen were terrifyingly professional, making sure at least one of them was able to fire their rifle while the other reloaded. By the time he managed to capture the killer on camera, Mr D’Souza had already seen two gunmen calmly stroll across the station concourse shooting both civilians and policemen, many of whom, he said, were armed but did not fire back. “I first saw the gunmen outside the station,” Mr D’Souza said. “With their rucksacks and Western clothes they looked like backpackers, not terrorists, but they were very heavily armed and clearly knew how to use their rifles.

“Towards the station entrance, there are a number of bookshops and one of the bookstore owners was trying to close his shop,” he recalled. “The gunmen opened fire and the shopkeeper fell down.”

But what angered Mr D’Souza almost as much were the masses of armed police hiding in the area who simply refused to shoot back. “There were armed policemen hiding all around the station but none of them did anything,” he said. “At one point, I ran up to them and told them to use their weapons. I said, ‘Shoot them, they’re sitting ducks!’ but they just didn’t shoot back.”

As the gunmen fired at policemen taking cover across the street, Mr D’Souza realised a train was pulling into the station unaware of the horror within. “I couldn’t believe it. We rushed to the platform and told everyone to head towards the back of the station. Those who were older and couldn’t run, we told them to stay put.”

The militants returned inside the station and headed towards a rear exit towards Chowpatty Beach. Mr D’Souza added: “I told some policemen the gunmen had moved towards the rear of the station but they refused to follow them. What is the point if having policemen with guns if they refuse to use them? I only wish I had a gun rather than a camera.”

Corroborating the doctors' claims about torture was the information that the Intelligence Bureau had about the terror plan. "During his interrogation, Ajmal Kamal said they were specifically asked to target the foreigners, especially the Israelis," an IB source said.

There are reports several times a year about groups of foreign students going missing.
Makes you wonder ....

To all the Bush haters of the world:

For years now we have had the American Democrats and their bedwetting, thumb sucking allies around the world do nothing but bash and hate on Bush for understanding what these killers are all about and treating them as must be done.

All we have heard is complaining about Gitmo, Abu Ghraib, rendition, water boarding and how cruel it is to put panties on the head of one of the throat slitting killers who would slaughter your children in front of you and laugh while doing it.

Will you people now admit you were wrong, and Bush was right after all? Some of you now admit it and some of you won’t.

No matter, they will attack again and again - eventually you will have no choice but to admit Bush was right. In fact, eventually you will say Bush was being far too soft on these racist terrorists.

I don't see this in my neighborhood. Many of the people here are talking as though Obama will miraculously cure all the worldly ills and that the days of heavy lifting are behind us. 2009 will be an interesting year.

Concerns for pie outweigh concerns for terrorism.

Pie can be felt and tasted. Terrorism is for newspapers that are not read
