Schwarzenegger casting ahead to future role

SACRAMENTO, California: Arnold Schwarzenegger still has two years left in his term as California's governor, but the Austrian-born Hollywood star already appears to be preparing for his next role — likely on the world stage.

In January, he will address the World Economic Forum's annual meeting in Switzerland. That event follows an international summit on reducing greenhouse gas emissions he convened earlier this month in Beverly Hills.

Schwarzenegger also has been asked repeatedly whether he would entertain a position if offered one by President-elect Barack Obama, most likely focused on alternative energy or other environmental initiatives. He's been coy in some of his answers, but has said he will remain in office until the end of his term in January 2011.

With his governorship entering its final years and his ability to attract the spotlight intact, the question is arising more frequently: What will Arnold do?

Magically produce a dubious birth certificate saying that he’s eligible for the presidency.

Schwarzenegger’s done such a great job in California. He’ll be great on an international stage </sarcasm>

Can’t he just return to the future and leave us the hell alone? Or can we reprogram him in the preset to take out Kennedy’s, instead of marrying and emulating them?

I'm a native Californian. I voted for Arnold. I've even seen him in Church.

But I am TERRIBLY disappointed in him right now. His anti-gay marriage and wishy-washy lib tie-in, and now the tripling of the car registration (that he reversed first thing in office, but is again on the table)and how he let his wife vote for NObama. NO no no. He's on my shiat list.

Couldn’t he just return to making movies? He could relaunch his acting career by playing a dim-witted politician - something nice and easy that won’t test his acting prowess too much.

If anyone has driven through his backward hometown of Graz, Austria, there is a river running through the middle of the town which is nothing more than an open sewer. The stench is awful.

Go home Ahnuld.

I cannot imagine what you must be going through.....you have my sympathies....

I have visited your beautiful state, northern CA is breathtaking.....it is too bad the fruits and nuts have ruined your state with their stupid ideology.....

Arnold is the best we can hope from California. Social lib, fiscal conservative. I hope he runs for the Senate; he may very well win if things sour on the dems in 2010 which is likely.

Remember our last republican senator from California? Pete Wilson did a great job. Better a republican in his mold than a Feinstein or Boxer.

P.S.

I love Austria and would love to return a zillion times.

Graz was a smelly disapointment (twice) maybe because Ahnold was from there.

I really do love Austria. If I could, I would return tomorrow. It is a wonderful place.

I wouldn’t support Arnold again for even dog catcher. Arnold the RINO has been one of the biggest jokes in CA history IMO.

As far as I'm concerned being a resident of California, should be the unemployment line. All Rinos need to be ousted and replaced with true conservatives to bring this country out from the brink of collapse.

If the judiciary leave their cojones at home and let nObama assume the throne without ever showing the requisite birth certificate, Aaaanuld could run for pres in 2012.
