A worker died after being trampled and a woman miscarried when hundreds of shoppers smashed through the doors of a Long Island Wal-Mart Friday morning, witnesses said.
The unidentified worker, employed as an overnight stock clerk, tried to hold back the unruly crowds just after the Valley Stream store opened at 5 a.m.

That said though, people may act like it but they aren't animals. I don't care if stuff is free, God gave us a brain and we need to use it. I could go stand in a crowd and force my way in but common sense should tell me someone might get hurt. People need to be responsible for their behavior IMOOC

I can imagine that there was such a wave of people that no one could stop even if they wanted to.
I took my grandaughter to a Disney Play a few years ago. The crowd was orderly but shoulder to shoulder. I felt we were in danger though. Just one spark and.
I went to Wal-Mart this morning with the attitude of if they have it good , if not ‘oh well.’ I was there less than 5 min, walking away in disgust. I then went to Target. It was 20 min before they were opening. Maybe 100 people in line. I sttod in line and had a great conversation with my fellow shoppers. The employees were walking up and down the line making sure people knew where sale items were located. When the doors were open, people were polite. No pushing or shoving. I got the 3 items I wanted and was out of there in less than 30 min. Wal-Mart could learn a lot from how Target ran thier Black Friday sales.
I then asked if Walmart was in business to incite riots, and of course received the typical "Walmart minimum wage, blank stare".

I have to agree with the kids here. It WAS their stuff if it was given to them. Parents have no right to give away things that don’t belong to them. Instead of the parents stealing, they should have asked the kids to sit down and pick out 5 things to give away. Then repeat that again every 2 weeks. When parents simply take things that don’t belong to them, it makes the kids more selfish, not less. This was very bad parenting.
Just tattoo the mark of the beast ‘666’ on their forehead and be done with it.
Wait a minute. You walked into a Wal-Mart, cash in hand and ready to buy an item in stock at its listed price, and you were turned away? There’s a regional sales manager that would like to have a few words with you.
In this country, we officially became animals on Jan. 20, 1973...the day 7 men in black robes decriminalized murder-on-demand for the most innocent and weakest among us.
So now, ANYTHING goes.
All but the people in the very front probably had no idea anyone was injured. They saw/heard an excited crowd running into the store ahead of them, and joined in the fun. Very doubtful that they realized the screaming and running people in the front were screaming and running because they saw that a dangerous situation had arisen, and were trying to get away from it as fast as possible — and with hundreds of people behind them, running forward was the only way to go. Crowds are very, very dangerous. I steer clear of them whenever possible.
There are always wise cracks about these type of articles by people who obviously have never lost anyone and grab it as a chance to be cute.
I won't even go on the 15th or the first day of the month. that is when the welfare and social Security checks are arrive.
I heard a news story on the radio this morning—a woman who got in line early at the local Wal-Mart was waiting to pay for her x-box when another customer ran by and grabbed it out of her hands.

My parents had a rule. You may be “given” something but if you wanted food and clothing provided for you, you needed to understand that everything in the house was bought by them.
So, if you abused a privledge, those possessions belongs to the giver.
One cannot make a contract with a person under 18, binding under the law, therefore NOTHING belongs to those kids.
Or the parents can have the kids “buy” food and clothing, rent, etc. with their possessions.
Your attitude is why kids feel entitled today.
