Thanks for updating! I think we were all starting to worry a little. Glad to hear things are slowly getting better! It’s also good to hear that you both have such caring people around, too.

Continued prayers for his recovery. (((((Eleanor)))))

Has anyone heard how the former First Lady Barbara Bush is doing?

The last update I heard was on Friday that she had been moved from ICU to a room and was doing very well. Would be on i.v. feedings and in the hospital for about a week; biopsy done was negative.

TODAY SUNDAY:

The First Lady appeared on NBC's "Meet the Press" in a taped interview that focused largely on her advocacy for women and girls in Afghanistan. She encouraged Americans not to forget about Afghanistan, particularly as the militant Taliban, which brutally represses women, is fighting to re-establish itself.

She said what she will miss most about being First Lady are the staff and friends who surround her. Laura Bush says she will mostly 'miss the people'

You win the toaster for just showing up I guess, lol. Between Christmas shopping, Thanksgiving travelling and football, not much traffic here today.

I look forward to seeing the beautiful White House Christmas
decorations one more time this year with this lovely First
Couple.

I know they must be thinking back on all the lovely times that
they have shared in this historical place in these most
historical and pivotal times in our country.

God bless them...and God bless all who post here.

Prayers for you to keep your strength so you may help him
as you always have.

God bless and keep the two of you.

In the hospital for about a week? That doesn't sound good. Where I live (central Florida), it's pretty much drive through surgery. To stay over-night after surgery is a rarity, much less a week. Hope she's O.K.

Thank you, daisy! Laura Bush is so lovely.
Great photos with the Christmas tree and on
MTP this morning.

She is the epitome of class, grace, kindness
and is SO sweet.

Here’s the video of her on MTP this morning.
Some folks think Brokaw was unduly harsh to
her on the subject, but through it all: she
was Laura, focused, gracious, knowledgeable,
and forthright.

Note how she sees that Pres. Bush was weepy
in the tape of his farewell to the troops at
Fort Campbell, and she got melancholy watching
him. They truly love each other so much.

God bless her .. as we have been richly blessed in
having Pres. and Laura Bush in our White House these
last almost 8 years.

This last Christmas for them in the WH is sure going
to be melancholy for us ............ sniff.
