MUMBAI: Terror struck the country's financial capital late on Wednesday night as coordinate serial explosions and indiscriminate firing rocked eight areas across Mumbai including the crowded CST railway station, two five star hotels--Oberoi and Taj. ( Watch )
At least 80 people were dead and 250 injured in the terror attacks, hospital sources said.
Two terrorists were still inside the Oberoi Hotel and commando operation was on.
Terrorists hijacked white police jeep near Metro cinema in South Mumbai.
Firing was also reported near Maharashtra state assembly building in South Mumbai.
Armed with AK-47 rifles and grenades, a couple of terrorists entered the passenger hall of CST and opened fire and threw grenades, Mumbai General Railway Police Commissioner A K Sharma said.
The terror strike which began at 10:33 PM at Chhatrapathi Shivaji Terminus(CST), formerly known as the Victoria Terminus(VT), claimed 10 lives in the premises of the station alone, police said.
Three persons were killed in a bomb explosion in a taxi on Mazegaon dockyard road and an equal number were gunned down at Taj Hotel. The victims in the hotel were its employees.
The lobby of the Oberoi hotel was on fire and the hotel evacuated, eyewitnesses said.

This is like the riots we had in Cincinnati a few years back where in order to really show The Man that the mob meant business, they burned their own neighborhoods. (And for that matter, then complained when the businesses moved out to the suburbs, and there were no jobs.)
It appears that westerners were targeted and there may be British or American hostages.
And guess who's behind it.

One is dead and the others are injured.
Please pray for them.

The Al-Qaeda terrorists are roaming around looking for Americans. It’s time we nuke Pakistan, or India does it... or We move into the FATA tribal regions and kill any and all islamic extremist.
Mumbai (Bombay), India. And it affects us because (a) the terrorists are targeting Westerners, specifically Britons and Americans from other reports; (b) we have a tremendous amount of trade with India and thousands of Indian workers work for American companies every day. I have several software testers that work under me in India, although they’re in Hyderabad, not Mumbai.
This has all the fingerprints of a large, well-planned al Qaeda operation. They’re targeting civilians, in multiple locations at once.

I’m very sorry to hear it. Prayers for them. Many of my family went through Mumbai a couple of years ago.
News stories recently said that the Pakistani Muslim leaders were likely to direct their terrorists eastward, since things were getting too hot for them in Afghanistan and the tribal territories.
Mumbai (Bombay, India) is the financial and technical center of India. Think NYC & Silicon Valley all rolled into one.
It's where a lot of customer support comes from when you call in (Please, no stupid India jokes. I have friends from school from there.).
If sufficient disruption occurs, there will be local, regional, and global fall out.
If the terrorists turn out to be say, from Pakistan, look for another ugly war shortly.
If it's home grown, look for another Hindi / Muslim pogrom.
It's probably going to get messier before it gets better.
