Carleton students have fanned out across the city near the beginning of the school year to raise money to fight the illness for years. But according to the motion read Monday night to student councillors, “all orientees and volunteers should feel like their fundraising efforts will serve the their (sic) diverse communities.”…
“I think they see this, in their own twisted way, as a win for diversity,” said Mr. Bergamini. “I see it as a loss for people with cystic fibrosis.”…

By the way, one of my best women friends died of cystic fibrosis, leaving two children behind who suffered her loss. But since she was white, I guess that doesn't count for anything.

It takes real morons to be ashamed of white males who created the most enduring and highest expressions of art, literature, architecture, music, dance, etc, in the world, and white males who are responsible for most of the technological advances, scientific discoveries, and of all others, as a whole, have had the vision and courage to explore new lands even in hostile environments, and to go into outer space and into the deep sea. Anyone who would be ashamed of that is mentally stunted. It’s not a wonder, however, when decades of education have been teaching that these things are irrelevant and unworthy of acknowledgement. “Dead white men” and all.

IDIOTS....I have friends who have grandchildren with CF....3 out of the 4 kids are GIRLS....and the CF foundation has something like a 96%+ amount that goes to research....and there are only about 30,000 people in the US with CF
There is a radio station in Atlanta that is raising money for Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital. There were two sisters on there with this disease.
I have never prayed for something bad to happen to anyone, but the people at this University are causing me to pray to God for patience and resolve.
Never mind that WHITE MEN COUNT TOO! Damnit. My white husband means alot to me. Just like he means alot to my white children.

P.S. Journey’s “Only the young” was dedicated to Kenny Sykaluk, a 16 year old boy who was dying from Cystic Fibrosis. He was a really big fan of Journey in 1985 and it was his dying wish to meet the band. The band, Steve Perry, Neal Schon, Ross Valory, Jon Cain and Steve Smith all went to the hospital where Kenny was. They put the headphones on his head and he was the only person outside the record label to ever hear the song “Only the young”. He smiled through the whole song. The band dedicated that song to him, as the next day, Kenny died. They were still tearing up 20 years later while talking about it!!

Reverse racism strikes again.
The only two adult children, both young women, of the former governor of Maine, Ken Curtis, died of cystic fibrosis as well. The governor and his wife, Polly have been in my prayers for several years now.
Give them time, they'll learn they've been conned soon enough.
And so it now begins with a vengance...
I call BS. CF affects all races.
I guess that since sickle cell anemia affects only black people, we should stop fundraisers for that disease, too. /s
