Sarah Palin was the object of bomb throwers' scorn by the liberals and left-wingers, both in the Democratic Party and the drive-by media. Now the liberals in the McCain camp have managed to spew their disdain for her as these half-hearted, pseudo-Republicans look around for a scapegoat to hang their defeat on.
Sarah Palin electrified the conservatives, and she offered hope where none existed before. She came out of nowhere and drew crowds and fired up McCain's bland and less than forthright campaign.
McCain was not the candidate of the Republican conservatives - he was being promoted by the liberal media as the hope of the future and then when they had him in place, they suddenly abandoned him in favor of the liberal-backed Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton crowds.
Until Palin was announced, conservatives like myself were willing to sit out this election because McCain is no friend of the conservatives. The liberal wing of the Republican Party hates the conservative wing and the religious right with a passion. We are an embarrassment and considered intellectually deprived. This same bunch hated Ronald Reagan.
McCain finally threw the conservative wing a conservative (Palin) and this drew rage from the liberals in the party. McCain was even being urged by these same liberals to make Joe Lieberman his VP but had to back off for fear of a conservative no-show.
With a slogan that promised change and rooting out corruption and the way that Washington does business, Palin put new life in the campaign. People for the first time saw hope on the horizon. Not only was this a shot in the arm for the Republicans, it was a shot over the bows of every crooked politician, special interest lobbyist and corrupt and bloated government operation in Washington, D.C.
Palin was a marked woman at that point and had to be destroyed and discredited. Hordes of investigators descended on Alaska. The drive-by media was relentless in their efforts to cast her as lacking leadership qualities even though she was superior in those areas to her counterparts.
She was a threat not only to the establishment in Washington, but she was a threat to her own party's liberal wing.
Sarah Palin is no liability to the Republican Party, she is our future. Without a doubt, Palin has to be reckoned with in 2012 election. She is here to stay.
Let the MSM, the DNC, and the RINOs take their best shot. Sarah will come out of it the better, and more loved and respected, and positioned to help us take back ourr country as a result.
Sarah was the only reason Oba Mao didn’t have a blow-out approaching 60%. She quite possibly could have even dragged McCain over the finish line, but McCain didn’t really want to go.
The filthy left will continue to demonize her greatness and her pro-American patriotism, honesty and ethics.
People like her ARE AMERICA. And the socialists hate the idea of it.
ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!
She is the future of the party, and the conservative movement.
See my tagline.
Amen, bro!
Huckabee seems to think it is him. He is already Robo-calling in Iowa — four years in advance ~LOL~ talk about desperate.
Gov. Palin’s candidacy would be a good basis for a viable 3rd party, but if not it would definitely breath new life into the GOP.
The future of the entire Republican Party better be more than just Sarah Palin, and it better include seriously and successfully ending their ties with all RINO’s at each and every political level while also moving the entire political party back to the political right on all of the issues and for always! Anything less than all of this, and the GOP will really keep on losing all future elections!
I couldn’t agree more with this article!
Palin/Thompson ‘12! (Well I can dream can’t I?;)
Actually I could easily live with Palin/Jindal as well. =)
You are dead-on there. No Party can survive if all they have is one good bullet (Sarah Palin) in their gun -- mixed in with blanks and rounds that explode in their face. (And guess which one John McCain was!)
A 3rd party run? Not a bad idea. Unfortunately, the last 3rd party candidate to actually win any electoral votes was George Wallace in 1968, winning 5 states for 47 electoral votes.
A Palin/Paul ticket would be fine with me.
This is the 3rd in a series of commentaries about elitism and Sarah Palin, good reads all.

But IMHO, Palin is not the future of the party.
Simply because she reprents the values of some doesn't mean she's the best leader we have to put forward in the coming years, at this time.
She has some promise. But she's not our answer at this time.
Yep. McCain’s staff immediately tried to hide Gov. Palin. They, evidently, were embarrassed by conservatism. She hit the ground running and they couldn’t try to run counter to her fast enough. Drag is indeed what she would have had to do, with McCain kicking and screaming not to as it appeared.
Well, at the very least, we won’t have the media constantly trying to pick McCain for us in the future.
Follow the link from Drudge to Bloomberg, it’s over folks, there is no country in 6 months ...
More importantly, if it hadn't been for Palin, the Dems would easily have their 60 seats in the senate.
I still find it amazing that a governor from Alaska can create such FUD in the ‘liberal elite’. Some of the people here completely go bat-**** crazy at just the mention of her name.
