Utah's chief federal judge will not be disciplined for donating money to Barack Obama's campaign.

Tenth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Robert Henry cleared U.S. District Judge Tena Campbell in a decision posted last week. He did say the donation was unethical but noted that Campbell had promised no similar donations in the future.

And, the door to repeated unethical behavior has been left WIDE OPEN!

Everybody raise your hand if you believe the outcome would have been the same if she had donated to McCain.

I’m just sitting here wondering what would happen to a judge who was discovered to have made a donation to the McCain campaign.

Whoever comes thru this court in the future should expect the same consideration. If they promise not to do something again they should not be disciplined.

Oh to be without scruples in this world and be able to get away with it. Imagine how much easier it would be to get ahead. /sarc

The powerful will continue to consolidate power and the powerless will continue to cling to guns and religion. Oh wait, that makes us not so powerless, now doesn’t it (obviously in reference to the religion part ;), I’m not trying to incite a revolution).

Okay, back to lurk mode (gotta say this stuff while the 1st amendment is still somewhat intact).

Sandy Burglar who steals documents promises not to do it again. Hillary Clinton who has illegal FBI files in White House promises not to do it again. The list goes on and on. I’m sure other FReepers can add to it.

Now do we all get to pick a law we want to break just one time, then get a pass when we promise not to do it again?

Just one theft of documents from the National Archives.
Just one illegal investigation of Joe the Plumber.
Just one leak of debate questions to the “preferred” party.

I couldnt find a photo of federal judge Tena Campbell,,, so i don’t want to jump to conclusions. If shes the same skin color as Barak, that might explain why she cant normally be punished. Still,,,it is possible being a liberal woman MIGHT be enough.

Also,,,i noted that she said she didnt understand the law,,, she thot it meant she couldnt give speeches and stuff for Barak. Everyone needs to relax,,, how can you expect a federal judge to know federal law? Jeeeezzzz, what a demanding crowd.

Just ONE daring daylight armored car heist that nets me, I mean THE ROBBER, $2.5 Million.

Hey, a guy can dream, can’t he? And it WOULD just be the one time...

I think what you are describing is called anarchy. I think that is what you have when there are no laws enforced. Once people realize that they can indiscriminately ignore the law and get away with it, society breaks down.

We don’t quite have that yet. We have something that is, IMO, even worse. Only conservatives are required to play by the rules. The left can commit voter fraud, campaign fraud, recount fraud. They get a pass.

I find it highly ironic that the leftwing, the ones who actually embrace anarchy (like Bill Ayers) are the ones who would be most appalled if they actually achieved it. What they really want is rules for other people but not for them. Sadly, it looks as though they have achieved just that.

The books in the background, giving the portrait an aire of intelligence, should be comic books.....come to think of it, that’s what “THE NATION” looks like.

It wasn’t her only donation.

Campbell contributed multiple times but only her last donation was made public.
