Along with the speculation on what kind of puppy Sasha and Malia will choose, where the kids will go to school (it's Sidwell Friends), and, oh yes, who will be appointed to the White House staff and the Cabinet, the matter of where the Obamas will choose to worship is drawing a lot of interest in Washington and elsewhere.
The Jeremiah Wright episode, though hopelessly misunderstood by most Americans, drove Obama to give his speech on race in America. "The most segregated hour of American life occurs on Sunday morning," he said. For the first time, many white Americans were exposed to rhetoric inside a black church that shocked and surprised them. But what it really did was to expose a deep religious divide in the country.

Episcopalia, the bling religion
The church of “What’s Happenin’ Now!”
No he didn't. That was said by some other race-baiter a generation or two ago. Obama just quoted him, and idiot woman Quinn didn't know any better.
I was going to write to correct you. But then I googled "Ben Bradlee" and found out to my astonishment that he was still alive. I assumed he died (about the time Jason Robards did). What has he been doing all these years?
Googled Sally too. Came up with this on her Wikipedia page:
Taking Communion
In June 2008, the Catholic League issued a press release highly critical of Quinn for taking communion at the funeral mass for journalist Tim Russert. In an On Faith blog posting on the Washington Post website, Quinn -- who is not a Catholic -- wrote that she was "determined to take [communion] for Tim, transubstantiation notwithstanding" and that she "had a slightly nauseated sensation" after taking it. Catholic League president Bill Donohue responded that "Quinn's statement not only reeks of narcissism, it shows a profound disrespect for Catholics and the beliefs they hold dear." Since the incident, Quinn's judgment as moderator of On Faith has come under question by media commentators including columnist Ramesh Ponnuru, who wrote that "if [Quinn] does not understand the affront she gave then perhaps regularly blogging about religion for a major news outlet is not the right job for her."
We will see BHO and family exiting church every Sunday, like old BJ was shown, carrying his bible?
Trust me on this one. The obamas do not worship. They expect to be worshiped. And they can keep on expecting as far as my family and I are concerned.
Nah, to keep their religious practices private they will have a “minister” come to the chapel that they will no dobut build in the basement of the WH. That way no one will know for sure what religion they actually profess.

Going more CON than PRO: keep her honest.
My church isn’t segregated. And my affluent suburb isn’t as segregated as the county to the west that has a large state university. Capitalism works.
There is a strong belief that The Cathederal is in serious negotiations at this moment with he Most Reverend Jeremiah (HATE AMERICA!) Wright to take over as Senior Pastor at the Cathederal effective January 21, 2009!
Note to Ms Quinn:There is a religious divide in America. You are either on Jesus’ side or you are not. See the Bible says there is neither slave nor free, rich nor poor, male nor female. So if Obama’s church was divided along racial lines. It WAS NOT IN JESUS CAMP! Get it? I thought not...
I have my suspicions as to which side you are on, but I shall withold them at this point.
***...and that she “had a slightly nauseated sensation” after taking it. ***
Good heavens, Sally that was your conscience bothering you. Hey, maybe Sally actually still has one. Doubtful, but maybe.
The difference is BJ went back to the white house to get serviced by an intern;with Obummer it will be the Washington press corps.
He already has a bad enough reputation with his church attendance. Why would he want to go to the temple of a non-Christian cult?
Let's look at some of the quotes that I "misunderstood" and see if anyone can help me to understand them more correctly:
September 2001: The government lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color. The government lied.
September 2001: We bombed Hiroshima. We bombed Nagasaki. And we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon and we never batted an eye.
September 2001: We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because of stuff we have done overseas is now brought back into our own backyard. America is chickens coming home to roost.
April 2003: The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes three-strike laws and wants them to sing God Bless America. No! No No! God damn America for killing innocent people. God damn America for threatening citizens as less than humans. God damn America as long as she tries to act like she is God and supreme.
December 2007: Barack knows what it means living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich, white people. Hillary would never know that.
December 2007: Hillary aint never been called a nigger. Hillary has never had a people defined as a non-person.
Jan. 13, 2008: Hillary is married to Bill, and Bill has been good to us. No he aint! Bill did us, just like he did Monica Lewinsky. He was riding dirty.
Fact number one: Weve got more black men in prison than there are in college. Fact number two: Racism is how this country was founded and how this country is still run.
"You cannot do terrorism on other people and expect it never to come back on you."
We are deeply involved in the importing of drugs, the exporting of guns and the training of professional killers.
We believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in God. We conducted radiation experiments on our own people. We care nothing about human life if the ends justify the means. And And And! God! Has got! To be sick! Of this shit!
"To say I am a Christian is not enough. Why? Because the Christianity of the slaveholder is not the Christianity of the slave. The God to whom the slaveholders pray as they ride on the decks of the slave ship is not the God to whom the enslaved are praying as they ride beneath the decks on that slave ship."
"Barack knows what it means to be a black man to be living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people. Hillary can never know that. Hillary ain't never been called a n-----."
Nope, I've got real issues with understanding those comments properly. Or did Ms. Quinn mean that most Americans misunderstood, and that's the reason why Obama got more votes than McCain?
The mailings ask me to give money to the Cathedral.
Based on those mailings, I'd say the National Cathedral would be the perfect place for the Obamas to go to "church".
Why?
Because when the National Cathedral asks for money, it does not say that the money will go to feed hungry people, or to clothe naked people, or to do anything to directly allelviate human suffering -- any of the things that Christ commanded his followers to do.
Nor do any of the mailings from the Cathedral say that money will be used to transform the lives of people who come to the Cathedral -- to take people and make them into disciples of Christ, and thereby transform their outlook on life and on their dealings with other human beings.
No, the Cathedral's mailings, asking for money, say that money will be used to further programs. In other words, to pay for bureaucrats at the Cathedral who will design wonderful-sounding programs to "End World Hunger" or to "Liberate All Women!" or to "Abolish Racism!!" or to "Eradicate Homophobia". Programs that do not feed people or liberate anyone, but instead make people feel good about being morally superior and have the "correct" world-view.
Like I said, a perfect church for the Obamas.
I for one will be heartened to see FLOTUS Michelle shimmying shaking and hollering and waving her arms every Sunday. PLEASE, not a boring church... I have so little joy in my life.
PLEASE Obama, show us that black churches are more than Wright. I want Michelle with a tambourine, and I want it Sundays!
