I am awaiting clarification from the Clerk's office at the United States Supreme Court as to whether my stay application has now been accepted in lieu of a more formal full petition for certiorari (and/or mandamus or prohibition). Such a transformation is a rare and significant emergency procedure. It was used in Bush v. Gore, a case I have relied on in my brief.

We do know the case has certainly been "DISTRIBUTED for Conference", a process usually reserved for full petitions of certiorari. Stays are usually dealt with in a different manner. As to a stay application, a single Justice may; a) deny the stay; b) grant the stay; c) refer the stay to the full Court.

Laws are passed all the times which re-define common terms for the purpose of a narrower or variant meaning within the body of a section or a subsection. See for example "child". In modern legislation it is usual to preface such a section of law with the definition of terms within it. The key phrase to look for is "for the purpose of".

Some random examples:

• "For the purposes of student policy a 'domestic student' means a 'domestic student' as defined in Section 2 of the Education Act 1989. In older codes and law the variant meaning is inferred from context. Certainly qualifications for the supreme position in government would have more strict requirements, and correspondent restrictive definitions of terms than any other. And in this case such is the case from all historical context about that section of qualifications for the Presidency.

It's amazing how many people pour out their hearts on this petition. I've read many that have just found out that they've been duped by the media and had voted for Obama. I think it deserves a recount with all the facts being laid down as they are.
There was a previous poster of a church of African American totalling 43 in the congregration that are absolutely beside themselves with the thought that they voted for him. Unreal that the world does not know about this still to this day!

None. That's why the SCOTUS is involved today. Prior to this election, common sense largely prevailed. Common sense has left the building.

Department of State for each state in the union as deemed acceptable by the constituency of the state and overseen by the Office of the Secretary.

Bottom line ... the POTUS cannot serve two masters. Having dual citizenship precludes 'natural born' status. Renouncing foreign citizenship, or allowing foreign citizenship to lapse, does not instate a natural born status. It is that simple.

AH, good questions.

You know, I've heard countless stories of people calling, asking various agencies, "Who checks to see if a candidate is qualified to be President?"

If you call your Secretary of State, he/she may tell you, "the Federal Elections Commission."

Call the FEC, they'll probably tell you, "the candidates' party officials" (e.g., the DNC, RNC, etc). Nobody seems to know for sure, and if they do, they a pretty p!ss-poor job with their "due diligence!"

How did Róger Calero of the Socialist Workers Party, born in Nicaragua in 1969, run for for President in 2004 and 2008 in up to 15 states?
Did his party "establish his qualifications?"
Did the SOS in New York, California and other states verify that Calero could never serve as President?
Who indeed?

Donofrio asked this question before, and after, his lawsuit with the NJ SOS. The SOS's answer was a resounding, "we didn't check Obama's qualification."

Are we to trust the DNC (and the RNC) TRULY vetted their candidates, just like we trusted the SWP with Calero, a candidate who CLEARLY cannot be President?
