Buried in a story in today’s New York Times is a fantastic notion - which is nevertheless entirely consistent with The Times’ worldview - that Obama’s win was a psychological defeat for terrorism.
The story is about a tape released by Ayman al-Zawahri, Osama bin Laden’s chief lieutenant, who referred to President-elect Obama as a “house Negro.”
The article suggests that Al Qaeda is lashing out. The Times claims, “American antiterrorism officials and other experts dismissed the video as a desperate tactic by a terrorist group that suffered a defeat in the global war of ideas with Mr. Obama’s election” (emphasis added).
The Times never identifies said “antiterrorism officials.” The “other experts” quoted are the author of a book on Al Qaeda, and Ronald Walters, a political scientist at the University of Maryland.
Walters believes Al Qaeda is threatened by the fact that Obama “looks like the rest of the world.” Among the tens of thousands of terrorism experts, Walters was chosen to put The New York Times’ spin on al-Zawahri’s message.
The Times thinks international terrorism suffered a staggering defeat because the voters elected a president who isn’t white, thus confirming that America cares about the downtrodden - like Harvard-educated lawyers with seven-figure incomes.
Never mind that Obama has multiple ties to radical Muslims, including his friend Rashid Khalidi. Forget that Obama said he would meet with the leaders of Iran and Syria without preconditions. Never mind that Obama intends to hand the terrorists a victory in Iraq.
The New York Times wants us to believe that Obama’s triumph is a setback for Al Qaeda. Sure, and the election of a disciple of Saul Alinsky is a victory for the free market.

Somebody could argue that the election shows that the people of the U.S. are simply no longer very worried about terrorism, owing to the plain fact that the homeland has not been successfully attacked again since 9/11/01.
That same someone might think this is a “victory” of sorts over terrorists. But it’s just ignorance borne of people with short attention spans. It is the sort of overconfidence that will inevitably come crashing down. Of course we will be attacked again. It is merely a matter of time. Obama is the invitation.
Standing at the door holding it wide open for them.
There has been an inversion of the normal state of things, a ship rolled upside down and floating keel-up. Wasn't there a disaster movie about this very situation once?

It’s a defeat for the NY times which has lost all their credibility.
It's similar to the lefty Congresscritters and politicians just making lying statements, knowing that it'll be picked up by the MSM as talking points.

The New York Times has their own agenda. They won't tell you what it is. You have to infer it from reading their rag as if it were Pravda or any of the other Communist lie-organs, and then read between the lines.
Russian newspaper readers used to have to do that all the time. Now we have to read our own papers that way. That tells you right there what you need to know about The New York Times.
Obama wants Americans to steal and kill each other (redistribution, Rev. Wright and infanticide), and that is also the goal of AQ on 911, ie. to get domestic muslims to kill us.
It’s the internationalist foreign presidence legacy. His worshipers try to point at white christians as domestic terrorists. So basicaly they welcome 911’s crusade against white christians.
The New York Times-Pravda is right. There hasn’t been one single act of terrorism in the US since Lord Obama was elected.

The two biggest “independent” news agencies in Russia are, Pravda and Isvestia.
Pravda means “truth” and Isvestia means “the news”.
The Russians has a saying, “S pravda, nee isvestia, s isvestia, nee pravda,”
which means, “In the truth there is no news, and in the news there is no truth.”
Note the media has ignored the death threat against Obama: “Zawahiri also criticised Mr Obama - whose father is Muslim - for betraying the Islamic world.
