And again, they have certain obligations under certain circumstances involving piracy. So things are being done. I guess that answers all my questions.

Outfit all ships that pass thru these waters with gatling guns......

Perhaps installing a few gibbets on shore and decorating them with captured Somali pirates might give pause to reflect to others contemplating a life of Piracy on the High Seas...

Let the world deal with it unless a US ship is seized
The world wanted change and Obama- welcome to it
First change- US not a cowboy, not a super power
stands ready to support, not lead

"The issue of piracy has been with us, as an international system, unfortunately, for quite some time." the piracy problem on the Somali coast has been around at least 10 years. For some reason, it has now made the threshhold and is being reported. I recall several years ago a cruise ship being fired upon.
India has the right attitude. Sink the pirate ships.

the United States is not going to solve this alone. No one country is going to solve it alone," McCormack said. What a bunch of panty-waists. What do we have a navy for then? Our Navy protects our interests. All the time, every time. Other countries? Not so much.

Honestly, why wouldnt a Saudi supertanker have its own security force onboard? Why is their only emergency plan to call 911 and ask for the USA?

We’ll see more of this “piracy” as Obama guts our Navy.
The world better wake up soon. Pirates do not obey UN resolutions.

Blackwater has outfitted a ship for anti-piracy work and accepting contracts - the good ol’ American way - private enterprise.

I remember instances of pirates threatening tankers in the Straits of Malacca- so the shipping industry is aware
Just incredibly naively unprepared to authorize their crews to run down any small boat trying to impede their navigation for hostile or unknown purposes, or to defend their own control center onboard ship?
Not OUR problem

Blackwater has outfitted a ship for anti-piracy work? Theirs as an escort or a customer’s ship?

No US ships have been attacked yet, is it because they know the US won't pay the jizya ransom?

We CANNOT meet their $$$ demands. It will just enable them to challenge us with more sophisticated means. The time is NOW to blast them out of the water (or anywhere else they are) and before they are richer or stronger.... can you say URGENT/COORDINATED EFFORT of all free nations????????
Given a free hand, these stateless thugs will have us back in the 1500's with no trade or travel except on THEIR terms!!! Has 'tolerance' put us in a position where we have to reinvent the F&;^%ing wheel every day now??????

They will hand ‘The “Mr. I Hate America” President’ this challenge too, and real quick.
THEN we’ll see what this BS politico is made of.... I am NOT optimistic.
