In my opinion Fred ran a half-ass campaign, did well when he put forth the effort.

No way on Thompson. He didn’t seem to really want it the last time, so why bother trying again. It looked like he only ran to mess up Romney. As soon as Romney was out, Fred dropped out, too. What was THAT about?

Everybody's favorite Andrea Mitchell, said Palin would/could not be the leader of the GOP. She said at the RNC Governors convention, Sarah had no substance in her speech.

So there you have it, Andrea says no way, no Palin. Man the hatred these sleaze bags have for Sarah is incredible! They feel they have done a great job of demonizing her, and have no plans of letting up.

Plain is okay but also we need someone who is more seasoned and knowledgeable. Her earlier interviews were pretty bad and so was the debate performance. While she will improve ... we really need a STRONG candidate NOW that is ready NOW for prime time. We have an uphill battle and we shouldn't be using gender or race as bonus cards. Let's go for COMPETENCE and really pick a winner.

The Republican party is toast. It can't be changed as long as the “lifers” aren't afraid of the voters who put them into office...and they are not!

Without term limits (which will never happen) and only a two party system, none fear the repercussion of the voters. They are too busy lining their own pockets and taking the ego trip to la-la land.

The Republican party abandoned any (and all) true conservative principles the day after Reagan left office...never to look back, only to move on to moderation and to “reach across the isle” to pander to a minority party in office that made them look like whipped dogs for eight years.

It's terminal and can't be fixed unless they actually see their own jobs in jeopardy. The only way to do that is to make the obey the wishes of those they represent!

I posted before I read the full article. Fred would make a great chairman, but a co-chairmanship of Fred and Sarah would be awesome, IMO. They would complement each other nicely. I’m fairly young, but I recognize the wisdom and experience of those older than myself. I don’t think of age as a liability, but maybe Americans as a whole do.
