Yeah I also had the impression that Fred was a spoiler and little else.

There are A LOT of Tennesseans asking the same question. Not only did Fred drop out, he dropped out before Super Tuesday and his home state voting in the primary. I was a rock solid Thompson supporter for many years, but him up and quitting like he did lost me forever.
We need serious minded Conservatives who understand the threat we face to our Republic and we need them now. We do not need any more quitters, RINO's or Country Clubbers!
If you need to complain, at least get your facts straight.

You're sure about that? I'd need a link - because my recollection had it that Romney was in the race for a month after Thomson bowed out.
