Same story here as the rest of the country. Figured I'd post it because it has a local flavor...

This may explain why so many reloading components - especially primers - are out of stock at the major Internet sites..

Guy I work with went to one of our smaller local shops for lunch...

Out of stock. Even their pistol case was cleared out.

A 1000 round case of Wolf 7.62 x 39 went from $199 to $279 (on a popular ammo website) in the week following the Messiah’s election victory.

The reality of gun ownership may be different for hunters in rural Ohio than for those plagued by gang violence in Cleveland, but don’t tell me we can’t uphold the Second Amendment while keeping AK-47s out of the hands of criminals,”

Of course you can. But for criminals, that is convicted felons, to have any firearm is already a federal crime. O has endorsed reenactment of the Assault Weapons ban, which keeps AK-47s, and if the new and improved verssion embodied in HR 1022, most every other centerfire semiautomatic that can accept a removable magazine, out of the hands of otherwise law abiding citizens.

From BarackObama.com/Urban Issues:

Address Gun Violence in Cities: As president, Barack Obama would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals who shouldn't have them. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent, as such weapons belong on foreign battlefields and not on our streets.

I was at the Saxet Gun Show in Austin yesterday. My son-in-law and I arrived kind of late, just before 4 with the closing at 5. The place was packed, and the tables were kinda empty. What was there was really high priced. Neither of us bought what were looking for, an AR-15 M-4 style for me, and a .44 magnum double action revolver for him, because the prices were so high. Although I think he would have settled for a single action and bought one, if the seller had had the ability to take his debit card.

Another entry in the "fear and paranoia" theme we've been hearing ad nauseum of late. This one's an improvement on the main run, though - at least this reporter admits that just maybe all that "fear" is actually common sense.

“I had customers come in with Obama T-shirts to get their guns
before the laws change,” she said. “They say, ‘I like his
economic policies.’

Ah, for the good old days.
When you'd go into some shop (e.g., car repair, barber shop) and
there'd often be a sign that stated:
"WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DECLINE SERVICE TO ANYONE"
I know those signs might have been a racist thang.
But I suspect in most shops it just saved storeowners from dealing
with a lot of Bravo Sierra from jack-@$$ customers.

If I were running a gun shop and someone came in wearing an
Obama shirt, I'd be tempted to say "NO SALE! Because if the culture
war goes hot, you might shoot me with the gun I sold you!
So I will now exercise my right to self-defense and tell you
leave my shop. And go to New York City and get a gun from Mayor
Bloomberg!"

Why can’t reporters get it right? Assault weapons are legal, but very highly regulated.

The M4 is not available for purchase for only $1000. The AR-15, its semi-automatic ONLY cousin is, though.

Rifles like the Mosin-Nagant, Garand and Lee-Enfield use clips (somebody correct me if I’m wrong here).
