Wow! Thanks for the update!! This remains much more of a squeaker than I expected!!!

Republicans, especially righteous conservatives, seem to need a 12 step recovery system for the future... It seems to me that it really is becoming necessary for the liberal Dems to screw things up, once again, so that the people can continue to see that liberalism is worthless and doesn't work!!!

They’ll just steal the elections. It doesn’t matter what people see or don’t see.

They're trying desperately to make a mockery of all of our culture, traditions and institutions!!!

That's why I like to think of them as Demonicrat Desperadoes!!!

It looks like Tom is going to win, he’s been one of the best legislators that California has had in years.

Yes, but I find it disgusting that it’s been this close in a district that’s been dominated by such a staunch conservative for nearly 20 years as John Doolittle was and probably still is, truth be told!!!

Oh those pesky liberals

They keep counting until they are ahead

They need to be watched like a hawk like in Florida when FR guys with other Conservatives broke through the locked doors and caught them putting Bush votes in Gore's pile and poking Chads like they were Barney Frank.

Thanks for the info.

I agree with you that this should not have been such a close one but Tom first had to battle the likes of Ose and his own party. (I don't have to tell you that) Also, the libs are discovering what a nice place the republicans have been living in and move there (and stink it up!).

I wish good ol' Charlie Brown would go away now!

Charlie Brown ran as a conservative, his ads were pro-military (even though Rats would gut the services) which is standard procedure with the Left- lie, get elected, then do whatever you want to further the agenda.

Imagine if Tom had said he supported gay marriage and abortion. He would have been skinned alive by the Right, but he would have gotten a few votes from those who hold those views, then later, he could have told them he was just lying to them as the democrats always do, and gone about business as usual.

I don't know if this is in Alynski's or Axelrod's playbook, but it seems the only strategy to get the majority vote. Stupid and gullible people vote too. In fact, they just handed Bozama the keys to the White House.

can anyone cite to me a single instance of a Republican who actually gained votes during a tabulation of early and absentee ballot or ended up after a recount farther ahead of the Democrat?

I hate to tell you that it happens quite a bit. That's not to say that the rats don't steal close races, but I think sometimes they drop the ball and don't have enough ballots stashed away beforehand. Or else their crooks are busy elsewhere.

When Willie Brown finally lost control of the California Assembly in 1994 the 41st seat on election day was Steve Kuykendal who was only winning by 80 votes the next day. We spent three weeks at the Los Angeles County registrar and the count went up and down and back and forth, and when it was all over Kuykendal won by something like 580 votes.

Right now there is a very important count going on in California's 19th Senate District. This is important because Democrats only need two Reps to reach the 2/3 necessary to pass a budget or raise taxes. There is already one Republican who always caves in, so this last seat is very, very critical. The day after the election, the Republican Tony Strickland was down by several hundred votes, but now after the good LA precincts have come in, he's ahead by 1500 votes and is probably going to win (this mirrors Tony's first Assembly race where he was down to a handful of votes on election day and eventually won.)

So it does happen. Sad to say but this has been one of my unofficial pastimes the past 15 years. When there is a close race I get dragged out to hang around those dreadful bureaucratic hallways. At least this year Tom McClintocks counties are within driving distance of my home so I don't have to stay in a cheap motel somewhere.
