Less than 600 votes separated Republican Tom McClintock and Democrat Charlie Brown in the ongoing provisional and vote-by-mail ballot count in the 4th Congressional District.

McClintock led with 168,947 votes as of 4:22 p.m. Friday, to 168,378 for Brown. That gave McClintock a percentage of 50.1 percent to 49.9 percent for Brown.

Thousands of ballots remained to be counted, though it was unclear which parts of the district they would come from.

McClintock led by over 1,200 votes earlier in the week. What’s going on in the 4th?

...separated by only 569 votes

Not an insurmountable obstacle for Democrats, using the latest fraud techniques.

If you look at the official Placer County election site it shows McClintock winning by 2,000+ votes as of this morning..

A large batch from Nevada County was counted this week. Nevada County has a lot of counter culture hippy types living out in the woods. It's usually been a good Republican County, but this year ACORN came in and pulled them out of the trees to go vote. So Nevada is bad and we've been aware of this since election day. NExt week 20,000 ballots from Placer County will be counted and Tom should gain about 1500 from that. After that it's only smal change left in a few locations.

That is just in Placer County. The district has 7 full counties and portions of two others. El Dorado, Placer, Nevada, Sierra, Plumas, Lassen, and Modoc, and parts of Butte and Sacramento.

Nevada County is apparently supporting Brown.
Not surprising to me.
I moved to Nevada County in 1993. It had a 82% Republican registration about that time.
When I left in 2004, the Republican registration registration was about 42%.
Bay area influx of Liberal know-it-alls. Buying rural properties and then telling people how to take care of their large animals. It got tiresome real quick. The didn’t know which side of a brush to use on a horse.

One pair of Lesbians bought 5 acres further down my dead end road right after I left. Within weeks, notices posted at the cluster mailbox stated a REWARD for the return of a cat.

Then another notice a month or so later, another cat.
Then another a month or so after that, another cat.

Someone put up a sign between the main road and the house of the new Lesbian residents.

“Coyotes-—3”
“Kittys—0”

Last of the notices on the mailboxes.

One “new” resident actually went to the county supervisors and demanded that all the “wild animals” be removed from Nevada County.
It is beautiful there, I miss my log house, and I miss some of the places I rode my horses, but I sure don’t miss the shift to the Liberal crap.

Although McClintock’s numbers are expected to climb from this point onward, can anyone cite to me a single instance of a Republican who actually gained votes during a tabulation of early and absentee ballot or ended up after a recount farther ahead of the Democrat?

You understand, of course, that those are only Placer County votes and not the entire district, right? (and not all the Placer votes, either)

Republicans in CA used to pull ahead on absentees... all the time.

In 1990, Dan Lungren lost the AG’s race by 50,000 votes on election day, but ended up the winner after the absentees were counted.

Eventually, the Dems caught on to absentee voting and the big advantage is no longer there.

EMAIL FROM TOM

Subject: Friday Vote Count Update

Dear E-Team:

Nevada County has completed 85 percent of its uncounted ballots and the three days of tallies have cost us 1,350 votes of the 1,500 loss that we expected. However, El Dorado and Sacramento returns have been much higher than expected, so it now seems unlikely that we will dip into negative territory anytime during the counting of the remaining ballots.

As of tonight, our lead has narrowed to 691 out of 338,307 ballots counted, or 0.20 percent. But there are only 1,792 ballots left to be counted in Nevada County, and Nevada County is the only county remaining that Brown carried. Meanwhile, there are still 29,500 unprocessed ballots from counties that we are carrying. After the final Nevada county votes are reported, our lead should steadily increase from there.

In a nutshell, we are currently receiving 50.1 percent of the vote and need 48.9 percent of the remaining votes. Of the counties still outstanding, we are carrying Butte county with 52.2 percent; El Dorado by 50.81; Placer by 50.72 and Sacramento by 53.29. Quite notably, we carried 64.75 percent of today’s batch from Sacramento and 56.21 percent of the batch from El Dorado.

Again, my sincere thanks to the volunteers and donors who have worked so hard to ensure a fair and accurate count. We are still in need of both through the next week. Volunteers can enlist by calling our Roseville office at 916-783-4411. Please keep our legal team going by contributing online.

Sincerely,

Tom McClintock

That’s very encouraging. McClintock will not only provide a powerful conservative voice to Congress, he is also an expert parliamentarian. That could prove useful against the Democrats.
