Well there you have it. The UAW would rather have a contract and no jobs then take a cut and have jobs. Something is really wrong with this thinking, add the fact that news is getting out about their pay and benefits they could lose the PR war really fast.

Let ‘em lose their jobs. Now is the time to break this union. It’s a job killer.

The more I think about this, if the automakers can hold out until January 20th, they’re going to get the bailouts they’re asking for. Even Bush seems to be supporting the idea on his way out the door....

The public isn’t interested in the “PR” here, any more than they were interested in the PR on Obama before they voted him in....

This is absolutely asinine, but why should the UAW make any concessions? The UAW has the Dems in their back pocket and they can just sit back and wait until they get billions of taxpayer dollars in a federal bailout.

I hate labor unions.

United Auto Workers President Ron Gettelfinger says workers will not make any more concessions

The International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America just signed its own death warrant.

I used to be a UAW member and watched this very same attitude cause the closing of the GMAD plant where I worked.

To the last, the union members had the "eff management" attitude, even in the face of GM closing the plant and laying off the entire workforce.

From my view from the inside, my opinion is that the UAW is rotten to the core. Or rather, rotten from the core...outward.

The UAW voted for ECONOMIC SUICIDE by supporting Obama, plain and simple.

As we have seen, Oh so many times over the last 30 years, the “membership” won’t really get it until the plant gates are locked behind them.

“....that getting the automakers back on their feet means figuring out a way to turn around the slumping economy.”

How about “Drill, Drill, Drill”? More oil, cheaper gas, and GM makes a profit again.

Sometimes I think we should just fence off Michigan and Ohio (give the U.P. to Wisconsin), dust off the 48-star flag, and speak of this no more.

Easier for me to go out purchase a 30 year old car or truck etc , strip it, do the body work, new wiring harness, new glass , new crate engine and transmission , new paint and interior etc for under 15K that serves my needs and doesn’t cost me 50k.....

I don’t buy union, today or tomorrow until they abandon the socialist democratic sedition that is killing this nation.

Scramble for the money. Do what it takes to take. Divvy it up amongst the execs, hold a fire sale, then close up shop.

In other words the union dogma hasn't changed on 80 years.

So, let me elaborate on your statement engrpat, There you have it, the unions have gone to bed with politicians and now neither can afford the offspring created and both parents are pi$$ed with their self generated desperation.
