The California secretary of state should refuse to allow the state's 55 Electoral College votes to be cast in the 2008 presidential election until President-elect Barack Obama verifies his eligibility to hold the office, alleges a California court petition filed on behalf of former presidential candidate Alan Keyes and others.
The legal action today is just the latest is a series of challenges, some of which have gone as high as the U.S. Supreme Court, over the issue of Obama's status as a "natural-born citizen," a requirement set by the U.S. Constitution.
WND senior reporter Jerome Corsi even traveled to Kenya and Hawaii prior to the election to investigate issues surrounding Obama's birth. But his research and discoveries only raised more questions.
The biggest question is why Obama, if a Hawaii birth certificate exists, simply hasn't ordered it made available to settle the rumors.

This may be nitpicky, but when was the USDA foodstamps program actually started? I wasn’t aware it was happening that early in the 60s.
That is how I understand it. It only shows up in Audacity of Hope as far as I know.

There have been no records found of a marriage and it has been said that Ann filed for divorce in 1964 using the grounds of “mental suffering” the only grounds used at that time. According to the story Sr signed the papers for the divorce while he was still at Harvard in 1964, shortly before he returned to Kenya. Perhaps Ann filed for divorce simply to resolve matters such as custody.The only divorce records others have found for Ann are for her divorce from Lolo which she filed in 1980. That divorce was never finalized until 1988 one year after Lolo died. “Official stories” have Sr returning to Kenya in 1965 but he actually returned to Kenya in 1964. One article I read also mentioned that because Sr was vocal about the government of Kenya he was stripped of his passport in late 1969. That brings up yet another question, namely what passport did Sr use to travel to Hawaii in 1971? By then he was divorced from his 3rd wife, Ruth, the other American he had married.
But it certainly sounds like Obama, doesn't it? To take a swipe at his recently defeated opponent, who could conceivably come back to bite him.

The food stamp program was intially a test one and Hawaii participated right from inception in 1959. It became a permanent program in 1964. I have already checked into that wondering if it was an actual program when Ann was living in Hawaii! When she returned to Hawaii in 1963 she could have applied for the program if she was on her own with Jr but once she moved in with her parents she would NOT have been eligible. She would also have been eligible when she was working on her master’s between 1972 and 1974 and living in the apartment on Poki St. just down from Punahou.
Yes, where are all the people who lived near & in the same town of Ann, Madelyn, Barry, Stanley Armour Dunham etc.
Somewhere, someone saw Ann pregnant, didn’t they? Who knows??

I’m wondering if either of Obama Sr’s US marriages were even legal since I’ve read he had other wives in Kenya. And have you seen any record of a marriage license for Obama Sr and Anne? That would help the timeline for sure.

There has never been any confirmed marriage for Sr and Ann aside from that reported by Rep Neil Abercrombie(a staunch Obama supporter who once said “Obama is a good choice for President as he is like they say in baseball ‘trainable’” an actual quote in a now disappeared newspaper article) and the insistence of Madelyn Dunham that they were married. Some newspapers give 1960 as the year of marriage and Jr gives the exact date of Feb 2,1961 saying the couple flew to Maui and got married with no witnesses, no family or friends.Jr himself admits he didn’t know if they were ever actually married but never investigated. The marriage Sr had with Kezia was a tribal marriage similar to what is referred to in the U.S. as “jumping the broom”, so it is questionable if that was legal!

A certified copy of a vital record (birth, death, marriage, or divorce certificate) is issued only to an applicant who has a direct and tangible interest in the record. The following persons are considered to have such an interest:
*the registrant (the person whom the record is concerned with);
*the registrant’s spouse;
*the registrant’s parent(s);
*a descendant of the registrant (e.g., a child or grandchild);
*a person having a common ancestor with the registrant (e.g., a sibling, grandparent, aunt/uncle, or cousin);
*a legal guardian of the registrant;
*a person or agency acting on behalf of the registrant;
*a personal representative of the registrant’s estate;
*a person whose right to obtain a copy of the record is established by an order of a court of competent jurisdiction;
*adoptive parents who have filed a petition for adoption and need to determine the death of one or more of the prospective adopted child’s natural or legal parents;
*a person who needs to determine the marital status of a former spouse in order to determine the payment of alimony;
*a person who needs to determine the death of a nonrelated co-owner of property purchased under a joint tenancy agreement; and
*a person who needs a death certificate for the determination of payments under a credit insurance policy.
If you are not able to establish a direct and tangible interest in the record, you are ineligible and will not be issued a certified copy of the record.
Upon request, a letter of verification attesting to the existence of a requested record on file with the Department of Health may be issued. Instructions for applying for letters of verification are included in the next section and immediately follow the set of instructions on applying for certified copies. The same eligibility requirements apply for both ceritified copies and verification letters.
A search of the records on file with the Department of Health will only be conducted to process an application requesting either a certified copy or a letter of verification. If the search establishes that the requested record is not on file, you will be notified that no record has been found. No searches of the records on file with the Department of Health will be conducted prior to or outside of the receipt of an application and payment of fees.

Birth certificates in Hawaii at that time did NOT have religion listed, but they did have a spot on them listed as “Country of Birth”
Thanks. Actually right after I asked about marriage records I saw your comment above about no marriage records. If there actually is a divorce record one would assume there was some kind of marriage.
