Europe has fallen in love with America again because of Barack Obama.

European leaders who celebrated his election victory are now signalling that they want an end to the estrangement between the two parts of the Western alliance during the Bush years.

Europe has no clue what Obama is all about. They too have been drinking at the fountain of kool-aid.

I must really be a drag for Old Europe to be so insignificant on the world stage.

Oh and which parts of the Western alliance would that be? The part that made proclamations and snide remarks or the part that did all the heavy lifting?

“Europe has no clue what Obama is all about.”

I respectfully disagree. I think Europe knows full well what 0bama is all about, better than most Americans. They look at 0bama and see...themselves.

They look upon Americas “middle class” and see money...money they want.

Basically, the average European embracing Obama does so because he/she is instructed to by European (and certain American) media.

But who made European media and the bulk of the American journalist “elite” support BHO?

“They look upon Americas “middle class” and see money...money they want.”

- Just like members of the European nobility like Vlad D. would slurp any liquid by the color of red, our financial elite has an addiction to anything green.

My guess is that the EU is going to be shocked when they realize just how arrogant Obama is. I’m sure they, in their own condescending way, are thinking “Ah, finally a man we can work with! One who will listed to us and be guided by our nuanced knowledge of world affairs!”. Instead after they deal with Obama they will come away angry about being bossed around by him. He thinks he’s king of the world now. He doesn’t want some sniveling beaurocrat in Belgium telling him what to do! They will take his instructions or else!

Europe has no clue what Obama is all about.

Sure they do. He's one of them and then some. They love the prospect of Obama heading up the gubbermint because he will make them look moderate and wise by comparison.

Don't worry. It won't last very long.

Soon Obama will demand more European troops in Afghanistan, and then he has to pay back his labour union supporters with increased custom rates and other protectionist measures.

It will not take more than a couple of months and the anti-US sentiments will be back in full swing again. Actually, some far left blogs have already started - but the middling left intellectuals won't be far behind.

They should be quaking in their boots, if they really understood what was about to happen.

When America goes socialist, there will be no money to fund the military that protects Europe from true communists.

No, they know what it’s about, namely, Eurosocialism triumphant and here you thought we swore to uphold our Constitution and fought wars for that.

“Soon Obama will demand more European troops in Afghanistan..It will not take more than a couple of months and the anti-US sentiments will be back in full swing again.”

- I agree we Europeans, in a very near future, will hear Obama explain to us how the WOT soon could come to an end if only Europe would increase its military presence in Afghanistan.

Whenever he'll address his European entourage with such a request, the European elite will respond by sending hordes of combat medics.

Status quo.

But when the incapability of Obama one day will stand in its right light, will anti-americanism anew reign European foreign policy?

I'm not so sure.

With both Liberal American and European media at his behind, he could well be backed up beyond belief in spite of his shortcomings and perhaps he could even be awarded an Nobel Peace Prize one day.

Something leaps to mind here.

I vaguely recall this American leader whom all US Liberals as well as all Europeans ignorants who wishes the US to remain a colony of ours placed our bets on during a certain Persian hostage drama?
