Fake Ambulance Spotted at RNC

Numerous Minneapolis-Saint Paul area EMS agencies, headed by the U.S. Secret Service, undertook special preparations to handle EMS operations during the Republican National Convention held Sept 1-4, 2008. Following is an inside account of the experience along with some lessons to take away for future events.

Fake Ambulance Spotted

On Tuesday, the second day of the RNC, a Twin Cities Paramedic spotted an "ambulance" with unusual generic markings in the city of St. Paul. The medic had attended RNC briefings on the need for heightened awareness, and as an Iraq War Veteran, he was well-educated and possessed a keen eye for things that are out of place. The medic reported the location of the vehicle he had seen to a supervisor, who then forwarded this information on to the USSS MACC. St. Paul Police were dispatched to investigate.

Police found the vehicle unlocked, and inside found a large cache of weapons, bags of urine and feces, and related items to cause criminal damage to property. St. Paul Police turned the "fake ambulance" over to USSS. This find was invaluable to authorities and went a long way toward keeping people safe. And furthermore an intelligence report detailing the incident was shared between all the three letter federal agencies including the CIA, FBI, NSA, and the Department of Justice. The paramedic did exactly what his RNC training said he was supposed to do, and we couldn't be more proud of him for spotting the "fake ambulance," according to a USSS representative.

The tactics of US enemies will or have already come to a head. The US public is going to get a first hand experience on what it was like serving in OIF/OEF - wait until EFP's start kicking off along major roadways and near schools or public emergency infrastructures like hospitals.

Those of us over there know what EMS vehicles were used for!

Doesn’t matter. There was a DNC Brownshirt activist thug terrorist who was CONVICTED of plotting to firebomb the RNC convention that got NO national or wireservice coverage> CONVICTED. It happened the same week as the Ron Paulian who scarred her face and said some black man did it which DID mysteriously get coverage from day one by the Obama campaign (who even apologized for the suspicious attack).

The media will blackout the stories that are unfavorable to their team. Had people known what went down at the RNC Convention, there would have been fewer voters supporting OBAMA(tm). May not have been enough to turn the tide in the election but history wouldn’t be spreading a lie about what happened in the United States of America this year.

I don't think there was this much division in this country before the outset of the Civil War. From what I read the Union and Confederacy didn't hate each other they just fought for their cause.

There is so much hatred out there these days. I don't think it will take too much more for this country to implode.

After discovering what was inside, I would have immediately backed off and staked it out to see who came by to get in it.

If it drives on the public roads, it has a VIN# and that should trace back to a previous owner. If it wasn’t reported stolen, someone has some explaining to do.

Usually when the term "trust fund babies" is associated with anarchists it is a given that they are just playing dress-up.

The guys are in it for the sex, and the girls are in it because they think it makes them cool.

And so did the Israelies. I think the technique was used there even before we went in to Iraq.

The "ambulance" was often accompanied by "Green Helmet Man's" camera crew as well.
