I don't think there was this much division in this country before the outset of the Civil War. From what I read the Union and Confederacy didn't hate each other they just fought for their cause.
There is so much hatred out there these days. I don't think it will take too much more for this country to implode.

From what I read the Union and Confederacy didn't hate each other they just fought for their cause Well at first anyway. Afterwords, there were "hard feelings" on both sides. It's why the Union Army occupied the former confederate states for some years after the end of major hostilities.
