President-elect Barack Obama's transition team is flirting with creating a White House "Climate Czar," but climate change crusader Al Gore says he doesn't want the job.
The Obama team declined to comment on such a post, even as environmentalists and power industry executives say it's being widely discussed inside the transition offices as a way to spur a clean energy industry, which Mr. Obama has promised will ween the U.S. from foreign oil and create millions of "green jobs."
Obama transition chief John Podesta promoted a similar idea earlier in his role as president of the Center for American Progress, a liberal Washington think tank.
Mr. Podesta authored a white paper calling for an Energy Security Council within the White House to oversee climate change and clean energy initiatives. The czar and the council would coordinate agencies, including the Energy and Interior departments and the Environmental Protection Agency.

Why would Al refuse? Pay cut? Or, is the title of 'Czar' simply not powerful enough for the delusional, energy hogging hypocrite?
To: Chairman of the Bard
Probably doesn’t pay enough. Besides, “global warming” is being exposed as the fraud that it is, and Al doesn’t want to go down with the ship.

Why would Al refuse? Simple.
Financial scrutiny.

Uh....Algore is waiting to be “CZAR OF THE WORLD”.
To: Chairman of the Bard
Al has to refuse for two reasons...1)pay cut. The millions of he makes from being a snake oil salesman touting global warming is just too good to stop doing and 2) he would actually have to be accountable for what he does and have to answer for his idiocy.

Perhaps it would be a conflict of interest. And isn't Al a "lobbyist" for climate change intervention?

If he had to submit to government authority, he would have to undergo ethics investigations into the claims he makes and the money he makes from those scams.

Gore Global Warming PR was all a political stunt to keep his name in the news, and he doesn’t want to be Obama’s puppet for Obama’s Global Warming PR.

A climate czar? This administration is going to do a few things like this to appease the base and keep it from turning on itself when he can’t stop the wars quickly enough. As for Gore not buying into this scam, at least one bit of good news from the political ticker.

Yeah, it’s pretty hard to pay all those $2,500.00 utility bills, maintain/gas up/insure 10-12 SUV’s, and keep a McMansion styled houseboat on a lowly Civil Servant’s salary.
He’s probably long since burned through all the money the Hammer family stole from the taxpayers and slipped his daddy under the table.

Bingo. Gore isn't as stupid as people make him out. Now that he's milked that cow for a while, he sees the flaws and rejections of the theory. He doesn't want to get caught in the ensuing debacle if it all blows up in his face.
