Everyone wants to complain about the Republican Party, but No one wants to do anything about it!

I would like to suggest to those who are discouraged by the results of the Republican Primary, and the Presidential Election outcome, that you join your local Republican Party as soon as possible.

That you actually attend the meetings, take on the jobs, do the work, not for your own political gain, but to support your conservative priniples and conservative candidates who will have mass appeal( like Sarah Palin).

Four years will be here before you know it, and we can not take another setback of this magnitude.

It is time to start promoting NEW CONSERVATIVE TALENT ,not just promote the same old codgers who run year after year. You can not wait til the year of the Presidential Election, it should start immediately, so you can see how the process works, if you are not already involved. Our Republican politicians are not getting any younger, and we need candidates who can stand up to the rigors of campaigning.

I know four years is a long time to work without pay for the Republican Party, as officers, and footsoliders, and attend meetings that might not be your cup of tea. But SOMEONE HAS TO DO IT!

I remember sitting in a local Republican meeting over a year ago, when the state campaigner for McCain attended our meeting and starting his promotion of John McCain, even before Obama was the nominee he would be running against. I grilled him over and over on McCain's age issue, and told him I was not ready for another failure in a Presidential Election because the candidate was too old ( remember the Bob Dole vs. Clinton )election. Well of course , my worst fears came true, only Hillary Clinton did not come President, it was worse than that, it was Barack Hussein Obama.

WE HAVE TO START NOW! WE NEED A NEW GENERATION OF CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS TO GROOM FOR HIGHER OFFICE, NO MORE FROM THE GERITOL GENERATION.

You may think you need to start up a third party, but the reality of it is, that the Third Party will not win. When was the last time a Third Party Candidate became President of the United States? Of course no one remembers, because it has not been in our lifetime.

Get out there and reform the Republican Party to fit your conservative principles, and find New Younger Candidates to run for President of the United States in Four Years. We have no one to blame but ourselves.

Mentally Challenged: The Republican Party is NOT Conservative. Never has been, never will be. Forget it. You still have morons like McCain in the Senate. And as long as these millionaire country-club blue bloods control it, it will knuckle under to the leftist media and the DemonRats. You’re wasting your time with RP apparatchiks. No future there.

Republican Party offices have always been overpopulated by a few families and their associates. There is a tremendous amount of incompetence and lethargy. This is a situation that is wide open for young, aggressive, knowledgable Republicans to take over. It is there for the taking.

The next best thing is to write letters. Not rants but constructive guidance. Be consistent, be persistent. You would be surprised how many of these people haven't a clue and actually welcome calm, rational voices telling them what needs to be done. Find out who the officials are and write them every week or at least monthly. Follow with an occasional call. Let them know who you are.

I agree, our county GOP committee is full of patronage hacks and the average age is close to 90.

We need youthful activists, principled conservatives to TAKE OVER this OLD committee’s.

I've never understood it myself . . . and it's ironic that Palin moved from PTA to mayor to governor while we expect political figures (like Palin herself) be delivered to us on a platter.

I don't see what's so difficult about this. When the GOP is the party of smaller, less intrusive government, they win. When they aren't, they lose.

If you want to win, don't promote policies that grow government. If you want to lose, stay on the course you're on.

Four years??? You mean TWO years......In TWO years we have another shot with the Congress. We need to take back control of at least the House in the mid-term election. Two years will go by fast - get out there, get moving!

The Last President who wasn't either a Democrat or a Republican was Millard Fillmore ( a Whig).. we seriously need a grasp of reality on electing a President in this country. Third Partys will not get to the Oval office.

The road back for conservatives is not through the Republican party. The have and will continue to do no more than take our donations and votes and give lip service in return. Any conservative who sends money to the GOP is a fool.

When W called me and others a racist for not supporting amnesty. Then he iced the cupcake by telling us we were not needed. “See you at the signing!”

When you have single member districts the mathematics of the deal says you can never have a successful third party ~ unless it totally displaces one of the two existing parties.

I do, let the Republican party die, or that is, declare it dead because it is, we need a conservative party. Even if that means there are three partys in American and we never win, at least we can feel good about our votes. We’re never going to win another election, if the republicans win it won’t be a conservative ticket. So, go fall for the ruse yet one more time, not me.

I don't want to feel good about my vote, I want to feel good about my country. Losing for a conviction won't help the country. Ripping the guts out of the GOP and filling it back up with real conservatism is what needs to happen. Work locally, think nationally.

Think "Guerrilla Conservative" in every action you take. The old guard should come to hate us, as we fight them from inside. The liberals should come to hate us, even more, as we fight them just like our fore fathers fought the British; from behind every tree, fence and barn.

The next four years for the GOP old Guard and Liberals should feel like they are on the road back to Boston from Concord Green.

There has been a considerable contribution by Freepers and Free Republic to the political landscape, but when it comes to getting to grassroots of politics.. you have to start with the “gruntwork” at your local level. I too only see older folks involved..myself included, I have met a few younger ones, and they need to be encouraged now, to carry the mantle for the next election.

Politics is not pretty, that is why no one wants to bother with it. Who would want to run for a political office, and put up with what you have to put up with. That is why good decent , honest people stay away from it.

There might be something to the complaint that conservatives "just want someone else to do the gruntwork."

You got that right! I was making calls trying to muster up volunteers to make GOTV calls and do some door knocking. (Don't get me wrong we always had a lot of volunteers) I can't tell you how many people would tell me they were willing to do ANYTHING to get McCain/Palin elected and were enthusiastic supporeters right up to the point where you asked them to come in and make some calls. That stopped 'em cold. No, can't do that. No time. Too tired. Too young, too old, too hot, too cold. Whatever. But other than actually doing SOMETHING, they were willing to do ANYTHING.

I’m waiting for the Palin Party.
