I hope Barack Obama remembered to thank George W. Bush on behalf of his illegal-alien aunt this week. The lame-duck Republican president did the Democratic president-elect a generous and dangerous favor right before Election Day: Putting politics above homeland security, the Bush administration ordered immigration authorities across the country to halt all deportation enforcement actions until the campaign season was over.
According to my sources, the Bush administration issued a 72-hour cease-and-desist order to all fugitive apprehension teams to spare Obama embarrassment over his Kenyan half-aunt, Zeituni Onyango. The Associated Press reported on November 1 that Onyango was a deportation evader one of an estimated 700,000 illegal alien absconders who have ignored orders from immigration judges to leave the country. The wire report mentioned that the Department of Homeland Security distributed an unusual nationwide directive within Immigration and Customs Enforcement requiring any deportations prior to Tuesdays election to be approved at least at the level of ICE regional directors.
But the politicized order was even worse than the AP reported. The deportation process wasnt simply slowed down for public relations reasons and fear of a media backlash. The process was completely frozen.
I doubt that three days made a big difference for most of them. The thing I think is really appalling is that this was done for blatantly political reasons, to assist Obama. What in the world was Bush thinking?
This administration has, indeed, failed miserably on illegal immigration.
But, I read recently last month was a record for deportations, I think.
OK, so now that the 72 hours are over.....................?
Why hasn’t Obama agreed to sponsor her? What a cretin.
Gives nothing to help her or Uncle Omar or cousin George, gives zero to charity until he starts running for President (and even then the percentage is small)...
....and then he wantsto lecture the nation on “selfishness.”
Why did the current administration even bother with this? It’s not as if the Obama aunt situation was going to make a difference in this election. NOTHING embarrassed the Obama campaign - not his past associations, not his preacher’s words, not his wife’s words, not his flipflops, not his choice of VP, NOTHING. The electorate was going to embrace Obama no matter what. Because...hey, he’s black.
I often ask myself the same question.
Thanks a lot W. I’m sure your good deed interference with the law will do us all a lot of good, and bring you lots of good will from the Democrats. Geez...
The more I read about our politicians - both Republican and Democrat - the more disgusted I get.
They’re selfish power-hungry bigots who think they know more than the general population and feel they have no obligation to inforce the laws.
By enabling a foreign people to come here unencumbered and to take jobs as well as cities and states over, they are basically causing ethnic cleansing against whites and blacks. Someday, people will realize this, but too late.
“Nothing embarrassed the Obsama campaign?”
Not sure!McCAIN didn’t try a lot to embarrass him
But on the other hand i have heard about a little financial crisis who occured a very few months before election day which helped a POTUS candidate big time as he was low in the polls
That's what frosts me! His hypocritical claim to care about "The least of these" while giving an average of 3% to charity over an 8 year period.
Most of the people I work with are Democrats. When they learn I didn't support Obama they are shocked and ask me why. I tell them "I couldn't because I'm a practicing Christian"
If they attempt to continue the discussion I give them the statistics of Obama's "generous contributions" to charity and ask them to explain how abortion could possibly honor Christ.
I'll end with "Every Christ follower knows that words without works is Hypocrisy which can earn an "I never knew you" on Judgment Day"
That's all I usually have to say before the Obama supporter loses interest in the conversation.
I'll end the conversation with "Can I get an Amen?"
The first thing Obama does is run to the NYT to leak their
private conversations. Some payback!
We can’t deport them until they have had a chance to vote!
