Fresh off a US presidential election defeat and further losses in Congress, the Republican Party launched a new website on Tuesday asking members for their ideas on its future.
"We are a party of principles and must regain our voice," Republican National Committee chairman Robert Duncan said in a statement announcing the creation of the website, RepublicanForAReason.com.
"We need to hear what our volunteers, activists, elected leaders, and party members think about the Republican Party as we rebuild, re-focus, and renew our bond with the American people," Duncan added.
The statement said the new website provides a venue for party members to "offer their opinion of where the party is headed and how we can be better prepared for the future."

And then you'll be bombarded with emails and requests for contributions. The last time I donated to the RNC was back in '04, and I'm still getting mail from them. They don't really care what you think, they just want to build contributors. The Republican Party has known for a long time what their Conservative base wants. They don't care.
Yeah, that's my thought too.
I think this is a hard mind shift for the older folks who have always voted Dem. They still think the Dems are run by "conservative" types. They don't realize that most of the current Dems are trying to turn our country into a socialist one. One where the government HAS TO control everything.
p.s. if you haven't heard of him check out Allen West (FL). I'd like to get him in a position to run for Prez.
And that is why the party will split. For whatever sad, sad reason the Democrats don't see the 'rats as where we do see what is happening to what was once our Party. If the GOP doesn't wake-up we will see not 2 parties in 2010, but 3 with the GOP being a tiny minority. I think by 2012 there will be 4 parties.
There are already 6 parties that I saw on my ballot.
Republican
Democrat
Green
Independent
Libertarian
Constitutionalist
“Addressing Climate Change Responsibly”
Any party that mentions “climate change” will not get my support. I am a Conservative, not a Republican.
I urge the ending of primaries altoghether. Back to the Caucus system such as we have in Minnesota.
I hope we are all ready to have this site monitored as a “terrorist website”. They will use Bush’s wiretapping proceedures against those who disagree with them. Anti abortionists will disappear in the night. Gun rights people will replace terrirists at Gitmo....
Actually Newt has done a pretty good job of framing many of these issues from a conservative perspective on his American Solutions site. There are exceptions, but I was generally pleased with what I saw. Check it out.

Does anyone remember the youngish Republican who was influential in the 80s who died of cancer? He was dynamic.
WE need another Lee Atwater. Young tough and as dirty as the enemy.
I agree with that.
